Our street used to be so fun. I live in a cul de sac in the suburbs of Houston, TX. We had neighbors from Mexico and China. We are from Louisiana. The rest are from Texas. We used to have block parties in the cul-de-sac and the Mexican neighbors used to make authentic Mexican food, the Chinese neighbors used to make authentic Chinese food, we used to make authentic Cajun/Creole food, and the Texans used to make the BBQ (brisket, pulled pork, etc). We had tables and chairs set up and music playing and people from all over the subdivision used to walk over and join us. Kids were playing ball and riding bikes. It was awesome. People from all over the country and world sharing their food and culture at an American block party. Sadly, most of the neighbors moved at some point and we don’t do that anymore. But it used to be so fun.
@neckashi69714 жыл бұрын
We still have the block parties in our block in India on day after the festival called makar sakraanti....where all the parents from different states of India makes thier dishes and sweets we praise god on that eeve and then we dance to the desi beats and that fun has its own uniqueness, at the night we fly lanterns and then i just hang out with my block homies who just got so busy but now they are together in the car shouting and singing its awesome we and we dont even care about our driving license 😂 Conclusion:we all are related at different levels

I notice that the Indian people I work with seem to be very fond of fries, and pizza. Years ago some friends who came from England invited me to a back yard party, asked me to come a bit early, I get there and they are just beaming - they had purchased a BBQ and they didn't know how to use it. It's weird everyone always expects the butcher to be a BBQ expert.
