The Bissell upright 2x series carpet cleaners are amazing. Surpassing the cleaning I thought you could get from a household upright. Tackling even impossible stains you would swear are hopeless. If you spray the stains a few times first and leave it a few hours so it loosens and reconstitutes it. The dual brushes and suction of the cleaner work like magic. The secret is in the emulsification of the stain substance and then suctioning it away with the foaming liquid.

Yes. I felt like it was very easy to use and did a good job. The only con would be that the dirty water tank holds less than clean water tank, so you find yourself stopping multiple times to empty one, then again to fill the other. I can live with that though.

Uh, yeah... I figured that out a bit late, I went to the bissell site and saw the specs, needless to say, the vacuum is enroute from costco to my house.... dun, dun, duuuuun. I'll take it back unopened.

Have a look at the karcher hard floor cleaners. I have a lot of karcher gear and it is good quality. We use a Karcher steam cleaner for our tiled floors, but it would be no good for wooden floors. :-)

Thanks for that, I looked into Karcher on costco.com and saw that the units people were receiving were "refurbs" also they would push debris out ahead of the vacuum so I decided to get a nice bissell floor cleaner with spinning bristles and a separate bissell steam mop with hose to sanitize the granite counters as well. Before all this I had a bissell pet sweeper stick that relied exclusively on suction and squeegee fins, it has lasted me lifetimes, but finally gave up the ghost when the plastic head connection cracked while I tried removing it to clean out the passage ways. I hope these new bissells last me as long as the last one.

This was an excellent review. I'd watched a few before this one, and yours was really the best. You explained everything very clearly and concisely and noted every technical detail such as making sure the unit is in standing mode before using the upholstery tool to protect carpet. A great review. Having just bought this, I thought I would take a look at how I'm supposed to use it and have had a go at a quite heavily pet-stained deep pile carpet. A Good review here. I Just purchased one after watching this video. It will replace my rug doctor which blew up last week. From experience with the R’Doc I Wouldn’t worry about going too slow. Slower the better. I found The slower the pass the drier the carpet was left. The lounge is about 35Sq mtrs and took around 45 mins to do with 7/8 tanks of water. It also cleaned much better at a slow pace. Interested to see how the Bissell compares to the R’Doc, the R’Doc was very clumpy but worked well during ownership. Hopefully the bissell will be on par or better than it

Surely the best structured, most articulate and well planned demonstration I can recall seeing. Full credit to you. I have an earlier (say 10yrs old Bissell Pro Heat 2X) that works well for 10mins and then stops delivering the water, I have had it apart and cleaned so often I have lost count, it works for about 10 mins after clearing the jets and the delivery lines then clog again. = JUNK imo. Seems to me a poorly designed tool. I am keen to see if this tool new works well after repeated usage and what your maintenance routine is. Cheers

I’ve just brought this machine and it’s better than my rug dr . I’ve got cream carpets throughout and the one in my hallway near my front door especially gets very very dirty ( I also have a grey cat) , I used a mixture of the pet solution and the oxy clean booster solution. I am truly amazed how brilliantly the carpets came up . They look like new! I used it on the deep clean function and after I felt the carpet which was only damp not wet through like you get with other machines. I highly recommend this machine especially for pet owners and for people with cream carpets .
