Hi Russell 👋 Thank you for your great videos- I'm doing CELTA online in the new year, and you have helped me find my way around zoom from scratch. One thing I have noticed is that when you switch between rooms in Zoom, the chat is wiped, so any instructions, questions etc that you put in the chat before switching are no longe visible when you return to that room. Do you know of a way to prevent this? Thanks again, Ed

Thanks for your kind words, and I’m glad my videos have been helpful! 😊 Unfortunately, Zoom’s chat in breakout rooms is designed to reset when you switch rooms. A workaround is to: Use broadcast messages to send instructions to all rooms at once. Share instructions in a shared document (e.g., Google Docs) that participants can access anytime. Copy and paste the chat text again when re-entering the room. I hope this helps, and good luck with your CELTA course

I am still very concerned about A.I. - Deskilling - Helps scammers scam in better English - Can generate false news, deep fakes - Can use creatives' content without permission etc. etc. I would be very interested to hear your views on the downsides of A.I.

Thank you for sharing your concerns-these are important points! A.I. does indeed come with challenges like deskilling, misuse by scammers, spreading false information, and ethical issues around content usage. I believe the key is finding a balance: using A.I. as a tool to enhance creativity and productivity while advocating for ethical use and regulations to address misuse. Educators, for example, can focus on teaching critical thinking and digital literacy to prepare students for an A.I.-enhanced world. I’ll consider making a video diving deeper into A.I.'s downsides and solutions. Thanks for sparking the discussion!
