Russet-backed Oropendola calling.

The voice of the Russet-backed Oropendola can be heard in much of Peru. It's a loud blurbing explosion of penetrating notes that can be heard from a good distance. If you watch them while they call you'll see interesting displays and behaviors as well. The hanging basket-like nests of oropendolas can be seen throughout Peru as well. I filmed this bird at the Manu Birding Lodge, Madre de Dios, Peru. Enjoy!
