According to recent reports, Russian forces are said to be preparing to deploy five heavy artillery brigades in Ukraine. These brigades will be armed with potent artillery pieces, specifically the 2S4 Tyulpan and 2S7 Pion. These heavy artillery units will be integrated into army corps and combined arms formations. Their activities are reportedly focused in the Zaporizhian area of Ukraine. But, what exactly prompts Russian forces to deploy the world's most potent conventional artillery systems?

2S4, according to the magazine, can also be used with nuclear weapons. For example, 3B4 with a TNT equivalent of 2 kilotons. An active-reactive version with a flight range of 18,000 meters has also been created. It is noted that neutron versions have been developed, that is, with an increased yield of penetrating radiation during an explosion, designated “Veil” and “Resin”. BMP-2M with Berezhkom spotted in the area of the special operation “Saida” is also mentioned, capable of burning an area of 7850 square meters. and equipped with high-explosive fragmentation submunitions "Nerpa"

Drones are the current fashion, very soon the anti-measures tactics will be worked out to the maximum and will not be any more effective than their other weapons. The future of drones lies in reconnaissance, special operations such as the assassination of General Haftar and the action against terrorists and possibly poorly equipped and low-tech developed armies such as Albania, Yemen, Congo... In the wars of ilola of strong and technologically advanced armies, drones have nothing to look for in a few years. Their effectiveness in such conflicts will be at the level of 5-15%... @@jakewillits4678Currently, they are ahead because effective defense tactics have not yet been developed, but just as at first there was no defense against machine guns, tanks and planes, over time this has been overcome and people have found a way to defeat them. A perfect example of this is the shameful bombing of Serbia in 1999, when NATO reports spoke of the total destruction of the Serbian army, when in fact not even 5% had been destroyed. 2 tanks, 3 tanks and about 10 ordinary vehicles destroyed. More than 100,000 tons of rockets, bombs and other assets were used. Even carcinogenic depleted uranium was used. It turned out at the end of the 78-day war that NATO planes, destroyers, cruisers and regattas hit 99% of the time models and false targets. It will be the same with drones and in a few years.

@@Truth-Istina Actual "drone" is simple radio controlled unmanned aircraft with bomb attached - of course if enemy has broadband jammers, such drone is useless. But you must consider future drones - completely autonomous with good optics and some AI on board and strategy of hunter/killer. Or anti-jammer drones navigating by jammer signal to destroy it. That type of drones can't be jammed or disabled with electronic warfare, only shot down by anti-aircraft fire. This is the future of combat aerial drones.
@Truth-Istina
@Truth-Istina 3 ай бұрын
@@ferosofranek8817 Since I have been dealing with military topics for over 25 years and therefore studying tactics, my opinion is that in the next few years there will be a battle between drones and defense units. There will be all kinds of attempts at innovation, success and failure. One of the forms of combat is jammers and they are effective against aircraft that are dependent on radio command and operator control. Distractions are the perfect solution. However, soon there will be a large number of spacecraft that fly on a predetermined trajectory and do not depend on the radio connection but on the GPRS signal, and there is a solution in the form of jamming the GPRS signal. Of course, when inertial navigation is done, the effect of jamming the GPRS signal will be drastically reduced. The third phase will be based on artificial intelligence, which will not only recognize targets on its own, but will be able to move around the front on its own without correction of the human factor based on GPRS coordinates, Inertial coordinates and even on the basis of terrain images and with the help of finding orientation points. This will be a serious problem because it will be impossible to interfere with a spacecraft that is standalone 10 There will finally have to be an emphasis on the physical destruction of the aircraft. However, the low cost and the large number of aircraft will cause problems for the missile defense as well as the lack of dowel and radar reflection. My opinion is that the universal solution for all possible types of spacecraft lies in the development of optical observation stations (TV, IC, UV, contrast), and cannon systems in calibers from a minimum of 30mm to a maximum of 57mm. The reason for this is, low cost, rapid response, passive mode, sufficient range and available 3P bursting ammunition. Such systems as Russian Pantsir-S 30mm and Derivation 57mm, German Cheetah, Chinese HQ2000, Serbian PASARS16 will have to be produced in large quantities and 100% cover the troops 24/7/365

@patrickweaver1105 Maybe there is a practical reason. Russia has 11 time To move equipment from the Urals to the west definitely trains are more efficient. But they have domestic truck brands like Kamaz and Graz that can be ramped up when necessary. During WW2 Soviets produced a total of 36K Gaz, 18K Zis, YAaZ and Ural Zis in 1941. The last 2 brands picked up production in '42. trucks were produced the next year for a total of 205,000 trucks through 1945 which is a remarkable achievement considering they bore the brunt of the entire Wermacht and while fighting . 4 million Nazis , 1 million Fins, Italians , Hungarians , Bulgarians , Romanians and other eastern European Allies ( determined to join in the war of exterminating Russians ), 6000 tanks in 4 Tank armies , 3000 aircraft , 10000 artillery, whilr fighting Barbarossa they relocated 2000 heavy industries on 200000 railcars , while producing tanks, artillery , aircraft , submarines, katyushas, ships , ammunition etc. All while fighting a ruthless Nazi determined to exterminate them. The 2021 SMO is a very small operation for the Russians. Their economy continues to grow at 5%. So I would be wary of Russian critics and be cognisant that the Russians have a serious proven capacity for total war and not underestimate them to produce what they need. An analysis of what we buy from them indicates they have raw materials and rare earth minerals we need not to mention finished titanium parts for Boeng, NK33 (RD161) rockets for our Atlas program, If I had been in Putin's shoes , I would have simply stopped selling oil to the Indians so Europe ends up in a recession and economic collapse But no ....not Vlad . Ukraine has its own problems but those don't diminish the ones Russia is facing. It was an ill-considered move to invade Ukraine. People like to inflate the amount the allies have spent on Ukraine but most of it was slated to be destroyed because it's becoming obsolete. Personally I’ve been seeing a shit ton of pro Ukrainian propaganda both from the Ukrainians themselves and from anti Russian news sources, I know that the Russians also use propaganda although I’ve not been as a exposed to it myself as I’ve been to the pro Ukrainian and if you actually read some of these it is just plain propaganda, I’ve seen pro Ukrainian ones claiming that the Russians have lost 500k troops and 5 000 tanks

Erm.... could it be because the Western mainstream media has been lying to us about pretty much everything in regard of the war in Ukraine... Russian meatwave attacks, fighting with shovels, out of missiles for over a year, having lost half a million of soldiers while Ukraine has lost zero troops, their morale is high after the summer offensive reached Crimea... umm... Not much limitation to Russian military might, weapon systems and ammo...now that the Russian military complex is on fast course to become 25% of the Russian Federation economy...and that number allies are also proping military production, in case of western escalation and specific Russian need, in unforseen areas. However, the Russians have plenty of weapons and ammo, and it's now the most capable and modern in the world. There is no way forward for the west in Ukraine...best to go home across the Atlantic.

Russia seemed to be slow in combining targeting assets, notably drones, but had not anticipated needing to use them in Ukraine. It had passed its sub-sonic drone designs and bodies to friendly states to concentrate on hypersonics. This was a lend/use/develop/return arrangement such as has been used in the past and by mid-2023 was further enhanced by EW assets which had puzzled the west for some time. Integrated systems grew from battlefield action instead of the US/German approach of having set piece systems and after M777 and HIMARS assets were hit quite hard Russian artillery and signals corps units could have success against PATRIOT systems and especially IRIS T weapons. What most pundits had assumed would be a series of tank on tank actions did not occur because tanks became easy prey on both sides for a while. Now Russia has all round superiority and the Kiev martial regime's reckless policies of wasting too many men and resources on too many fronts is being exploited by Russian forces. If enough UAF men choose surrender to massacre with no support from the bunker 'high command' the Ukrainian people might get to choose the types of governance they want per region sooner rather than later.

Well the big question apart from ammunition was originally the barrel supply to the artillery pieces. Several factors have indicated that for some reason russia has been putting specific tanks like the T55 and T54 back into service These tanks feature rifled guns and are outfitted with basic artillery sights. With way more capable T72s and T80s still being in storage the best guess was that these tanks are used as makeshift artillery. It indicates that russia is having some issue or another with their conventional artillery pieces.

There are huge stocks of shells for T55 and t54 in warehouses. Where should I put them? Apart from these tanks, they are not needed anywhere. In this case, the tanks are conventional self-propelled artillery platforms. In my opinion, it is quite logical to spend their shells
@AlexKarasev
@AlexKarasev 3 ай бұрын
Since for use as a mobile artillery piece as you've pointed out, or to a drone or a Javelin it makes very little difference which tank it is, yes, the Russians are big on using up the old crap first. Once the top-attack active defense means and tactics evolve, and also in situations where the action is more about mobility, they can deploy more of the newer stuff.

In Russia, rather, another problem is competent, effective fire control. The army is a system, but we don't have enough consistency... There is also a lack of responsibility, which was under Stalin... Sometimes such things happen that my blood pressure rises from rabies...
