I'm from the U.S. and we have a government (by donor) that operates for its own evil self interests at home and around the world while orchestrating coups, shuffling governments, buying loyalty from its subservient allies at its whim to get what it wants (in the name of democracy) with millions of innocent (everyday) people like ourselves that have been killed in the process!!! I'm glad that your eyes are now open and you are the wiser and better for it.

DC is a bubble that think they can still weaken Russia. They don't give a crap about Ukraine, they are just useful to them. US has wanted since the end of WW2 to control Russia so they can steal from her like they do every country they get control over. A lot of citizens in my country think they are "exceptional" and they are trying to free the world. LOL It is crazy here and we have no control over our own govt. and haven't for decades. They have done a great job with propagandizing most of their citizens.

The new Ukraine recruit, a 40 yr old construction worker or plumber, with a home, wife, and kids, is dragged into the army, and paid $157 per month. This is an economic death sentence. He will lose all he has, his enemy is now his own govt.He will have little to fight for anymore,he has to figure what his family needs to do to survive. There is no win in his future, his family is in a dire situation.

There is no right to anything. Nature only knows might makes right. The US considers it vital to take out Russia as a global competitor. That is all the reason they need. They word it in terms like the rights of the Ukrainians to defend themselves or self determination, but we all know that in Latin America no country has the right to leave the American sphere of influence either. It's about a global hegemon trying to maintain its position by DELETING a rival.

It’s all about oil, minerals and resources - the US want them, but Russia wants to utilise their resources for their own benefit, not those of US interests. US has betrayed Europe, bullied and blackmailed other ‘allies’ into falling into line behind their doctrine. The BRICS+ meeting in Kazan should be interesting, as US interests are now firmly and clearly understood by the global South, who wish to have little to nothing to do with them. Watch the dollar topple, it’s only a matter of when, not ‘if’.

@@siddfinch6296 absolutely! All the guests. Orlov, Martyanov, Wilkerson, Freeman, Baud, Ritter, Johnson, McGovern, Petro, Wolff, Hudson, Finkelstein! All of them are on other shows as well (like the Judge) but I feel with Nima they give the best interviews. The Judge for example is fine if someone really hasn’t heard much about the issues. He keeps asking the same basic questions though and I know he does it so new people can catch up and can’t just pick up where many of us have been listening these kinds of interviews for years but Nima does these tks assuming we are all already well informed and up to date. I like that. I don’t need the judge to ask Ritter again ‘when do you think the war will be over?’, you know what I mean? Anyway, Nima, Napoletano, Andrei, Duran, Garland, Galloway, Berletic…these are all great. Nima is my favorite at the moment as I’ve been following most of them for years. Berletic when he was even publishing under a pseudonym! Duran when they were talking about other things than ukraine. Galloway somce he was anti Iraq war and so on. We’re lucky there ARE this many and I hope they all keep it up for as long as needed because the MSM is still brainwashing too many.

@@nikola_todor_atanasov i agree fully but the duran let robert barnes spew vile bs about gaza without pushback and their video title descriptions are almost devoid of mentioning the middle east, compromised people imho. george galloway as great as he is (i followed him on the radio for over 10years) was appalling in his fight against scottish independence from london.

@@siddfinch6296 you’re right. Plus, every time Alexander says how he believes America is actuygood and should and could be saved and he wouldn’t want anything bad to happen there I just sigh and go ‘i guess we’re all products of our times and circumstances…’ It’s like even after so much coverage he’s done he can’t see who the biggest culprit is for literally a century almost?! Yeah, I can’t stand Robert Barns and I can’t stand that colonel Davis, just like Tony Schaffer or (Jesus Christ!) Jack Devine on the judge channel. Galloway in Scotland…different time and I’m sure he’s changed his mind now but yeah man, I get it and agree with you. Isn’t it great that these channels have created a space where people like us can talk without the usual nonsense interrupting and causing arguments? That’s another thing I like about all the shows I mentioned. The community they’ve created. But yes, the Duran I’ve slowly been less interested in because I can smell the pro-western bias and even though I understand it, I don’t like it. Although the Mercouris daily episodes (just himself) are a personal news addiction at this point and I never miss them and he is better on his own. As a matter of so is Cristoforou.

There just isn’t enough time to hear them all and now since it’s been years, i find people slow and boring if they can’t tell me everything about someth in 15-30 minutes! 😅 like sometimes I’ll see a clip of these shows on instagram videos where I can’t make it go fast and i’m losing my mind like ‘thiiiia is how slow they talk?! Wtf?!’ And also, danny haiphong is a good channel but mostly because he leaves the guests to talk longer without interrupting. His questions don’t really keep the interview going and they’re not even that good. Nice guy, good channel, good guests but not the best host. Leagues behind Nima! The Syriana analysis guy is also good btw, if you haven’t watched his stuff yet. Great guests as well.

Nima, this interview is a KZbin classic! Prof. Hudson has the unique ability to view the economy from a truly macroeconomic level. He fully accounts for geopolitical motivation. I agree completely with Prof. Hudson's explanation linking the current genocide in Gaza to a US show-of-force and intimidation. The misery inflicted on the Palestinians is an example of what XYZ nation could face if it resists US imperialism. It is what the US did to Japan in 1945 dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Moreover, the US continues to colonize the EU, a project it has been pursuing for nearly 100 years. Within the past two years the US has deindustrialized Germany by creating a dependency for expensive US controlled natural gas imports resulting from the Nordstream pipeline destruction. Kudos to Prof. Hudson!

Michael is absolutely correct to describe the Switzerland joke peace conference as just a simple propaganda stunt to show how isoldated Russia is. Which is why it's so awful how the bulk, if not all, of Russia's friends of the global majority will cynically/consciously comply. Time for some, China particularly, to show US they will not be cowed. 'We are the many, they are few' (Yes I know there is 'behind the scences help etc. but really is time for others to stop accepting US visits used to scold them and make Russia look so isolated.

Most in the West fail to look at the map. Russia and China are NEIGHBORS. They share a long border. (think US and Canada). Having a good relationship with each other serve the security interests of both nations. Since their economies also happen to be HIGHLY complimentary, close economic dealings are only natural. What is UNNATURAL is the American demand that they stop trading with each other. Has anyone demanded that America and Canada stop trading with each other?

Another incredibly informative podcast with the extremely knowledgeable Michael Hudson! Thank you Nima for inviting Michael back as a guest. His explanations allow us all to fully grasp the complexities of what is unfolding in the world today. His depth of understanding from all the activities he has been personally involved with on the global stage, for many decades now, gives him Insights into current events that few others have. It really is amazing that no one in positions of power in the West, have the first clue as to what is going on with regard to economics or finance! If they did, the misguided and misinformed policies that have been snd continue to be implemented by the U.S. and its client states in Europe, would have been altered for more practical and common sense policies long ago. The U.S. and Europe only know how to double down on policy initiatives that have yet to benefit them, either short term or long term. Utterly amazing that they could be so foolish as to continue promoting things that haven’t yielded anything positive for them yet! Thank you Nima for again having Michael Hudson back on as a recurring guest, on your wonderful podcast. You are doing an excellent job keeping us all better informed. Please keep up the good work!

Thank you Nima , great show, glad to see Mr Hudson with you. Ammo shortage is the western story, the weakness now showing in Russian advances is purely due to manpower shortage especially within the artillery groups due specific Russian targeting of those artillery guns and the crews who typically are kill as a result. Like Mr Hudson says 80-85% of the money will stay, as much of the money in past has, the only money getting through pays government salaries, perhaps reduced pension, repairs and maintenance. The equipment sent has been mostly storaged, reserve and outdated materials and equipment, basic uniform and outfitting.

Excellent discussion as always. However at 27", Prof. Hudson generalises about Christian versus Asian civilisation. But Russia now combines Orthodox Christianity with the industrial legacy of the USSR. "This star shall rise in the East" (Dostoevsky). That Russia is Christian is immensely important. The question is really whether the West is in any meaningful sense Christian.
