This situation really highlights the growing economic tensions between major global players. Russia's move to impose tariffs on Chinese goods could signal a shift in alliances and economic strategies. It’s a clear reminder that in today's interconnected world, no economy is truly isolated, and every decision has ripple effects. Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds

@dmathmothtutinean89508 күн бұрын
Hmmm… this essentially is more about the inability of Russia to support and bolster its growing economies as opposed to China doing anything bad that the people of Russia do not like. China could not sell cars if Russian cars were of similar quality and reasonably priced. I’d say if Russian cars were within 10% of the price of a Chinese car but a slightly better quality the tariff could be as low as 2% China would not be offended and Russia would have made its point!! 6:31

I think it is not that difficult to understand this topic. Put it bluntly, I guess after covid, everyone realized that they need real physical manufacturing in their own country. If importing from China slowly kills off all their own manufacturing, they are heavily dependent on China. In times of emergency, when they needed supplies, they got nothing. They can not continue doing this. It is a wake up call. I think all other explanation is just a fancy way to cover up this realistic issue they are facing.

Why now? What a silly question. Russia supplies China much of its power. Russia has also got a massive trade deficit with China. Since Russia cant tax the profit china makes out of then. Theyve decided to impose the tax before the goods are sold thus increasing the prices and reducing the supply. Thereby selliing more home made goids at the same tim. All sounds very sensible to me?

to equalize the power of China and tamp down on their aggressive bullying of countries in the south china seas, the western countries should invest in those countries like thailand, laos, vietnam, burma, malaysia, indonesia and the philippines. cheap labor in those countries can duplicate what china is doing to produce cheaper goods. this a win-win for the west to reduce their dependence on china cheap goods. their is no way china can restrict the supply chain in times of emergencies like when covid happened.

If we view this tariff as a step in a plan to wind down their current military economy, it makes some sense. Putler doubtless understands that if they just cut off the money “tap” to all the industries currently running on defense contracts, with NO quick alternatives, could quickly cause severe unemployment..
@stephenmisener16598 күн бұрын
Globalization is amazing in theory, and often terrible in practice. When you have nations like china that completely disregard safety and morals to give you a cheaper product, what reason in a money driven world does a country have to NOT buy from china? Tariffs despite what people like to think are an absolute net positive for the nation using them, but like all necessary/good things its never easy at first.
