one thing I have always noticed about these Russian prison documentaries, having spent time behind the door in the UK, is how quiet their prisons are. In the UK, and it seems it's the same in the US - the wing/pod is always very loud, especially at night. And in the daytime, on association - in the UK there would be guys flexing and making a lot of noise. But in these Russian prisons, they seem very quiet. Nobody is flexing, shouting about how bad they are. Super quiet. Things happen in the darkness.
@Comm0ut
@Comm0ut Жыл бұрын
Russian guards do not have to tolerate any flexing or anything else at all. The death penalty is carried out by wardens with a single pistol shot to the base of the skull. The guards and staff are not soft like in the West and what you don't see are prison riots since any acting fool would be cut down.

That’s because in Russia there’s no rights and nobody going to make a big deal if the guard comes in and stomped you half to death!.. In Russia you either listen to the guards or you definitely getting severely hurt. Here when a inmate is seriously injured by a guard it makes waves in the news and they typically get fired. In Russia not only will they not be fired, but they’ll be giving a raise most likely.. I’d imagine that there’s no delusion whatsoever about the inmates running the prison, like you typically hear from inmates here. In a place like Russia the guards absolutely run that house and it’s up to them if you even make it to your EOS basically, because nobody is coming to your rescue!!..🤷🏻‍♂️😏

A prison guard told me he just checked in a smuggler from Eastern Europe, he wasn't sure just which country, and the dude immediately took off his sweater and used it as a pillow to lie down in the corner of the cell by the toilet. The guard was just like wtf are you doing? And he replied: "I am new here, I have not earned the right to sleep in the bed. How many will be here with me?" and when he was told it was a private cell he couldn't believe it. Seemed like he wanted to spend the rest of his life there in that modest cell rather than be sent back to his country

16:13 In Russia they use the metric system, so 20 degrees is actually the normal room temperature. That would be 68 degrees in American. Not that it means much when it's displayed on a fake thermometer. Also "zek" means a prisoner. Basically, a prisoner gets 300g bread per day - 10.6 ounces.

There's a Russian prison named the black dolphin that i saw a documentary on a few years back and no word of a lie, I'd prefer the death penalty to spening any amount of time in that place. 18:43 I have a buddy that used to work in Dannemora, Sing Sing, and Comstock prison’s, here in NY as a guard about 20 ish years ago. He’d always share these crazy stories of how he would always have a few guy’s that he’d take care of with smokes and other small things, along with turning a blind eye to his goon’s, just as long as they agreed to do a lot of his bidding against other problem inmates. He’d pop doors and let a inmate or two run in and take off on dudes who’d shoot their mouths off at him thinking that he wouldn’t bother them.. They didn’t realize how wrong they were until it was already too late in most situations.. Was a real eye opener as to what really goes on on the guard side of the glass for me!!..

Good video, but just giving you a heads up, that every country in the world, other than the US use degree celcius, not farenhight, so when he is saying 20 degrees, 20 degrees celcius is plenty warm. I believe what the inmate was saying that it was much lower, and the screws were just drawing onto the wall that it was 20 degrees.

Thieves in Law, or Vory were the Soviet Union's organized crime groups. Their main philosophy was to never take any form of handout or welfare from the state and to supply themselves with everything they wanted or needed through crimes such as but not limited to theft and smuggling from other countries. This is how they became so powerful when the Soviet Union collapsed, they had decades old networks in place and quickly filled the vacuum. Now they are the Russian Mafia who have territory all over the world. They also still have the same tattoo culture. I knew a guy who worked with Jim Rose's Circus, he had stars tattooed on his shoulders, a very important Vory ranking tattoo, they went on tour to Russia and within an hour of landing he had to get cover ups as he was warned by customs if the wrong people saw them, they would be cut off him where he stood.

Zek is someone that's been in the prison system for the majority of their life. Whether they have a long sentence or they cannot function and take care of themselves out in the general public shortly after they are released. So, they end up in prison shortly after being release. When i had a short stint inside over unpaid fines in the UK there was a huge Russian guy who was in for something and dont know how long he got but he was parading around like he owned the place . He was acting so happy all the time because he must have thought he was in a holiday camp.😂😂😂

I had a Russian friend who was in the navy. He said there are bad people in Russia people of low character. I used to say well look at this country here in the UK it's full of criminals and bad people. He said to me no you don't understand your western in Russia we have people who lie and lie about people. He said especially in the justice and prison system not one inmate will ever ever tell you the truth, the truth about their crimes, who they are, where they are from. He said it's currency in Russia to lie, it's a curreny , an industry all in its own to lie and at best be economical with the truth. Embellishing the truth is a straight given. A navy officer will immediately tell you they were a captain, a captain would immediately tell you be is a admiral. It's an intense lawless take on reality over there.

Look at the corruption in the military even. Putin thought he was gonna walk thru Ukraine but the reality was officials had been embezzling the funds. Ammunition without powder, food rations full of water, etc.. Putin spent the first year figuring out what was wrong, throwing inmates at defensive lines, and generals out of windows lol. What a shit show that place is.

none of this is true - "lying is a currency" - no it isnt, that doesnt even make sense. lying is not a medium of exchange. ive lived there - this is nonsense

Scorpion is the mark of a Russian mob member. They have different tattoos usually on the hands or neck. I knew a guy who ran with a group that had the same tattoo he was cold to the core no other way to describe him other than he had dead eyes.

I've been close friends with Russian folks in the past. People that grew up in Moscow through the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The cultural differences were seriously stark, but there's some things that are understood no matter where you are on the planet!

Zek is what amounts to Russian slang for prisoner or convict. It’s a shortened form of заключённый (zakliuchyonnyi).

It looks like the early '90s going by the cars on the street, I was in Russia in 1985, I was an electrician for an English touring folk theatre, we were told to take plenty of dry and canned food, Coca Cola, Levi jeans, Walkmans and quality metal tapes, Johnny Walker Black Label Whiskey, we had a couple of groups of KGB watchers while we were there, they were watching 24/7, I walked into the theatre one day and there were about 30 or 40 men there and one of the watchers, I thought they were having an argument, I later found out the watcher was selling them tickets to an auction to buy our stuff before we left Russia.

"Zek" means prisoner in russian , so he said " a certain amount of dollars per inmate ", kopecks is that regions currency, im not russian but I did time with a world wide known hit man, I know that sounds crazy for a canadian prison, but its true his name was andy, he beat his charges and was released in the netherlands and spoke 7 languages and he did time in a russian prison when we were celly's

That part about the heater painted on, saying 20°, I think he meant 20°C, which is 68°F. So they’re saying it’s normal room temperature when it’s really not. That’s my guess since the US is one of the one countries left to use this system of measurement.

Dear friend, he was saying 20 degrees Celsius. It's about 67 F (about the same as jails and prisons all across the US)
