Kind of a bummer on the loss of that aircraft. It landed in North Dakota many years ago on an emergency refueling mission. The pilots where at eye level with the control tower. Thats how freaking huge it was.

Many of the machines built by Russia and the Soviet Union are absolutely fascinating. So is the old brutalist architecture. I hope for a future where the Russian people can rejoin the western world peacefully. Working together in art and science would be truly beneficial for mankind.

It is intriguing how almost every war is associated with a particular image or object that is the first thing which springs to our head when we mention it. For example, for Vietnam it could be helicopters with door gunners, for World War 2 it could be the Soviet flag over the Reichstag etc. For the war in Ukraine it could be a Javelin hitting a Russian tank.

WW2 I think of D-Day, all the Pacific landings against Japan, the numerous operations over the English channel, and the first-ever jets developed by multiple different nations. Vietnam I think of fire, agent orange, the Ho Chi Minh trail being slammed by 300 tons of HE over a week, early jet-era combat, American people coming to unison regarding ending the war, and M16s. Ukraine I think of sounds of incoming and outgoing artillery, convoys being decimated, civilian structures heavily attacked, Drones, major morale on the Ukrainian side, and lack of morale on the Russian side.

I loved my Mosin Nagant. Got it way back when big 5 had them for under $200. You could get lucky and find one with the hex receiver for the same price which was a good deal since those are rarer than the rounded receiver. The 7.62×54R round packs a punch too and will get the job done without a doubt. I should have bought a boat load of them seeing how they're going from $400 to $1000 depending on quality and if all the parts have matching numbers. A fun gun and it's pretty sweet knowing it may have served in WW2, Korea, or even Vietnam.

It's strange to look at it... The largest transport plane in the world was built in Ukraine? .. Yeah... It was built in the Soviet Union. The whole huge state.... But if you are drowning for the fact that it was created in Ukraine, then please answer the question. Why was it not possible to build at least a second such aircraft during the thirty-year period of independence of Ukraine? Interesting isn't it? And it was not the Russian wars that destroyed it. It was destroyed by the Ukrainians themselves. Firing artillery at Russian warriors
@ardenissunset6728
@ardenissunset6728 Жыл бұрын
Mentioned plane Mriya was built in USSR, and ukrainian government started de-communization before, so ironically russians helped with that. I didn't watched rest of video, but should note that there were a few ukrainian governments during massive conflict one hundred ago, and anarchists from south-eastern Ukraine struggled with them too (until bolshevik's betrayal). At least they had some new social ideas for live, so that wasn't only about capturing territory. Unfortunately all wars are more or less dumb, hope someday they will left only in video games.
