I think it’s important to note for those who are Eastern Orthodox, this is a schismatic group. The way we worship isn’t magic, we can’t force God to dwell with us by any means. This view of the “old ritualists” is a heretical view, that the Spirit only dwells through these precise means. Rather the Holy Spirit dwells within the church at large and is present in her liturgies around the world. It’s not the ritual that does it, it’s being part of the body of Christ, it’s being in communion.

Sorry I am learning about Orthodoxy, but I want to ask. So in 1971 Moscow Patriarchate revoked the anathemas and also issued an ukase asking for forgiveness. But most have not returned to full communion. For those that have returned to full communion, what do you say about that?

Im not sure how they decided to handle this case but usually people outside the faith in this manner are entered in through chrismation, which is a mystery of the church. Being in communion also means that your priest/bishop/ and metropolitan are canonical. For these old rite churches this is not the case. I'd say if you attend an eastern orthodox parish you're part of the body of Christ :)
