LOL. Thank you for a good laugh. This day was dragging, but then I read your comment about NATO being unable to "stand up to Russia" and I couldn't help but laugh. The conflict with Ukraine has shown Russia to be both a belligerent but inept foe. No wonder why Putin is so afraid of NATO approaching Russia's (expanding) borders - NATO would CRUSH them in a conventional conflict. (In a nuclear conflict, Lord-forbid, we'd all die. Fake news, no sources for info. By the way, the video is full of mistakes of physics and aerodynamics. 'The new nozzles are designed to improve the Su-57's thrust, maneuverability, and stealth capabilities.' - Nope, Nope and Nope! - Flat nozzles reducing engine thrust, not improving. Russians (Soviets) has tested flat nozzles for Su-27 fighter many decades ago and found, the flat nozzles reducing the engine thrust by 12-15% comparing to circular nozzles of the same engine. - Flat nozzles reducing aircraft maneuverability, since they can change the thrust vector only in vertical plane. Russian round nozzles provide 3D-vector change in all planes. - Flat nozzles do not improve stealth capabilities in radio diapason at all, only in IR spectrum, flattening the gas stream and mixing it better with surrounding air. The blade plane are still circular and perpendicular to the central axis of turbo engine. The Russians will never give up the round nozzles for the Su-57, the superior maneuverability they provide, and will not agree to reduce thrust by 12-15% for the sake of a slight decrease in visibility in the infrared range. Period.

Actually it's not. Firstly, strength layout of a Su-57 with flat nozzles been spotted in the office of Mikhail Strelets (Chief designer of the Sukhoi). Secondly, Evgeny Marchukov (Lyulka experimental-design department CEO) confirmed that the department is working on flat nozzles for izd.-30.

If these are real changes, the robbing of Russia's upgrade budget for the Su-57 GUARANTEES that the new Su-57 will experience major failures due to the substitution of inferior parts and materials just as has been done to Russia's tanks, cannons, warships, airplanes, ammunitions, etc. Russia is a nation that can't even provide her soldiers with decent food, weapons, ammunition, uniforms, and training. How can Russia actually improve the Su-57? Did Russia farm this out to the Iranians? Actually. this story is very likely cheap propaganda Russia spews out, just like they hide the 300,000 Russian soldiers who already have died in the Ukrainian invasion.

interesting that this propaganda piece ignores the Su-57's major stealth design and manufacturing weaknesses. The flat nozzles are not a major factor or improvement in the area of stealth or air dominance. Make no mistake to ignore that the Su-57 remains a medium observable jet that can still be detected from over 100 miles away while F-22, F-35, F-15, F-16 jets with the new AIM-260 missiles can see, launch, and hit the Su-57 before it knows a missile is coming to destroy it. Under modern aerial warfare missions, aerial dogfights no longer occur because missiles are so much faster, accurate, and deadlier. Those who can see first, shoot first, will kill first. EVEN with the new engines and exhaust design, the Su-57 remains median observable which means it will be shot at, hit first, and destroyed first. This is why aerial dogfights have become extinct.

I Think Previous Su57 Engines was better in Manouver because new engine maybe more stealthy but less maneuverable (just look at shape of first engine vs new ones) Because the previous Engines were round and narrow and widen and rotate in infinite directions, but the new motors may be quieter and stealthier, but they are not round and only rotate on 6 axes, so its maneuverability will definitely decrease.
