Thanks for the comparison. Two notes 1. In 1991-1995 in Belarus there was White-Red-White flag, not a Red-Green. 2. In 1991-1994 Belarus was not a president republic unlike Russia and Ukraine. There was a prime-minister leading the country. In 1991-1994 Kebich was a PM.
@TimeMakerDotPH
@TimeMakerDotPH Жыл бұрын
2. They still have a PM until now, it's just that it isn't comparable to the PMs of UK or even France when it comes to power-sharing (their PM is like a US VP). Also, understanding post-USSR politics is a tricky thing. While yes Belarus was classified as a parliamentary republic from 1991-1994, their PM wasn't more powerful than the head of state. Belarus got such classification because their de facto leader was an INDIRECTLY elected (by legislature) head of state. In fact, during the time the USSR itself was collapsing during the 90s, many SSRs also got the classification of parliamentary republic but with head of state as their de facto leader, examples are: 1. Ter-Petrosyan (Armenia), 1990-1991 2. Shushkevich (Belarus), 1991 3. Gamsakhurdia (Georgia), 1990-1991 4. Yeltsin (Russia), 1990-1991 5. Kravchuk (Ukraine), 1990-1991

It was interesting to see the comparison. Nevertheless, in our countries it has long been known that life in Ukraine is especially difficult. I have been there many times. I feel sorry for the peoples of all our three countries. Why ours? Because we all came from the same root, Eastern Slavs. What's going on right now is out of my head...

@Mr.Nobody The statistics I said are the total for just salaries and wages etc. The statistic doesn't include taxes, bills, rent, spending on any goods, etc. So after you have spent lots of money on things, you are left over with a lot left, maybe $500-$1000 USD in your case.

Also, most of the reforms, which made Russia's economic miracle possible in the first two Putin terms, were finished in the 90th. So, its not a lot of his personal involvement in economy success at that time

@@stanislavcherepanov3465 Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe, both under dictatorship and democracy, and this is despite the fact that in the 90s we had the same standard of living. And if you say that the liberal reforms of the 90s had a positive impact on the Russian economy, then you are deeply mistaken, because growth began only when Putin canceled them :) Some of them were undoubtedly useful, but most of these reforms were harmful and destructive.
