​@@34rec I grew up in the usa, kind of low-key assuming that people in Europe were a little bit ahead of us. I saw evidence of it through various things they did and various technologies they had and the fact that they had better social support for people. In grade school, they told us ridiculous stories about russia. That was during the time of the ussr. I actually believe some of these stories but they didn't put me off from wanting to see russia. When I got to be an adult I learned that they were false. One in particular was about the first McDonald's being built in Russia. They said the Russian people didn't know what to do with a hamburger and try to eat it in layers, first a roll, then a salad, then a steak, and so on. Furthermore, we were told that the Russian people didn't know what straws were, and thought that they were some kind of pen. The teachers probably told us that because they knew that a lot of kids like to go to mcdonald's, but for me it just made me more curious about what kind of different things people in Russia ate.

Кстати, совсем недавно задумалась об этом. Бомжей было много в 90х годах, намного меньше в 00х. А потом они куда-то делись. Так, что о них все забыли. В Питере не вижу их ВООБЩЕ... Ни одного. Ни на вокзалах, ни в парках. Нигде. Точнее, одного видела года 3-4 назад, в трамвае, и была сильно удивлена. Потому что это был прям реальный бомж, со всеми атрибутами. Но после этого - ни одного. Electric scooters for rent are very popular in our cities. They are on every street. Nobody steals them. There are GPS transmitters and as soon as the scooter leaves the unauthorized designated area, the criminal who tried to steal this scooter will be caught immediately

These robots have camera and trackers and also real human operators can take over their controls remotely (to help them get unstuck or something) - so if it would get attacked or vandalized it would be able to provide enough info about attacker for its' operating company to send it to police - I guess that's enough of a deterrent xD potential police involvement i mean

Давайте будем честны, на западе к роботам плохо относятся только смуглые мигранты или смуглые нелегалы. Трудно представить, чтоб белый, семейный мужчина средних лет грабил это милого робота. Вывод, цивилизованным странам необходимо привести в порядок миграционную политику. They are doing well in winter too, I was surprised to see how well they drive in snow. They can get sucked but then an remote operator takes over and manually get him back on track, or people help the small thing. It is funny to watch when children want to help by pushing the robot even when he do not need help, some children just want to hug the small thing it is after all a cute friend at your size.
