Russian forces seize village near Ukraine's 'gateway to Donetsk'

Russian soldiers have claimed to have captured the village of Kostiantynivka in eastearn Ukraine.
Footage released by Russia’s MoD shows soldiers raising the state flag over the village.
The village lies 47km southeast of the strategically important Ukrainian city Pokrovsk.
Pokrovsk lies on a key road used by the Ukrainian military to supply
the frontline.
Russian media call the city “the gateway to Donetsk."

Russia stockpiled missiles and drones for over two months to make their "massive" attack with 120, two days ago. Today this stockpile is gone as shown by no attacks last night. They're losing over 1k soldiers per day and over 750k since the start of the war, compared to ten times less at just 70k for Ukraine. It makes little sense the US limiting Ukraine's use of military aid due to fears of escalation; it makes more sense that it causes a protracted war that is decimating Russia's military and has a catastrophic economic cost. Also with Ukraine effectively a US proxy, it benefits the US to extend this war as much as possible without Ukraine losing.
