Congratulations, you just successfully described the exact opposite of what is happening. Putin expected a swift (get it? Yeah, Putin's russia never will) victory in 2-3 days but instead, they failed miserably in taking Kyiv and now Putin is getting weary and restless, trying to bomb the Ukrainians into submission. The only real gains the Russians have made are in the countryside while they have been struggling to take any city, no major ones as of yet. It is an embarassment for a military the size of Russia.

Great job on the maps and the timeline. I feel like there should be one alteration, the red that represents the area known as Belarus, I don’t think that should be the same shade red as the invading army in Ukraine. It’s a minor thing, but it does kind of throw off the perception of how much progress the Russian army is making.

If capitulation is off the table, negotiation is the next best hand. So far we have only seen the soft touch of the Russian military. This map present only one side of the war: the territory. But let's not forget the airstrikes on major cities, including Lviv which is a long way from the Russian forces. And the fact that the Ukrainian army is exhausted and outgunned and the political leadership is desperate to end the conflict. The war might end with no further advance of Russian forces, or continue with only reliable on air strikes.

it took nato about 30 days to take out Iraq, and they weren't supplied by anyone. also, took germany about the same time to take out Poland, and that's a very small country compared to ukraine. this is a big undertaking that takes time and patience. it's not easy advancing through hostile territory where one doesn't know what's around the next corner.

@@lesdoll402 Yeah, but Russia has overwhelming numbers compared to Ukraine and much higher levels of motorization and mechanization compared to WW2 Germany, whose only about 25% of its forces were actually motorized, mechanized or made of tanks in any form and they constantly had to deliberately wait out for the other 75% to keep up with them by foot. Also, they used *horses* for transportation of their logistic lines.

World will get its peace when everything get back to its place. Ukraine and Alaska will get back to Russia. Once people know real history, which is hidden from us, then they will understand.
