Russia no longer maintains the Soviet Union Triad. As they did not have the resources to up keep this Triad along with their military after the fall of the Soviet Union. They did manage to keep parts of it except much of that has deteriorated after 40 years and leaves them with a limited strike cape ability. Losing territory does not mean “losing”. The Germans had control of WAY more European territory in the summer of 1944 but then by the summer of 1945 they had already surrendered to the Allies.

He was laughed clean out of the Confederate States of America. And after Desert Storm, I saw a program that suggested the PATRIOT weapons were not as successful as we had hoped. But we've probably come a long way since then. And before someone got the idea of REBOOTING your immune system (I had a bone marrow transplant for Hodgkins in 2005), I would have planned my funeral when the initial 12 weeks of chemo didn't fix the problem. So in the long-term "big picture", we are moving forward.

The UK needed America's position. While the UK donate the missiles, they rely on American mapping and navigation data to hug terrain to their targets. The White House rebuffed sustained UK pressure for many months to let Ukraine use them. In Beiden's defence, this seems to have been a deliberate decision not to make it an election issue. If he had then Trump would inevitably have come out against it, as a point of difference to win votes. By waiting until after the election he has allowed Trump the chance to stay silent. (Which he has, on this issue).
