Excellent reporting as usual. Love all these guys, all those serving you interview. To me they're the Greatest Generation who beat Hitler reborn. Ordinary people who became extraordinary when they needed to. I am so glad you are preserving their stories for future generations to see who they were what they did and how they lived. I love the bond they have with each other, and what I also love about Ukrainians in particular is how they take such care with everything, I would never have thought food could be so well cooked and a dugout could be so warm and cozy! Well done. ALL the best to them, good health, safety AND success and VICTORY

That's a 122mm with a range of about 9.5 miles w/ standard load. So you're quite a bit closer to the frontline with the 122 than you would have been if you visited a 155mm Bohdana or even a M777 crew, which can reach out to about 26 miles with regular shells. being 16 more miles behind the frontline would be majorly preferable, unless your intention was to get close.

I understand that they are at war and in the middle of the woods without their family and lack many modern conveniences, but this is easily one of the most comfortable setups I have seen for an artillery crew in this conflict. Having a designated chef with experience and a relatively diverse selection of goods and a hardened peer with legitimate pre-war military expertise and know-how being part of the group, constant access to the outside world via the internet, a cozy and well thought out trench dugout, multiple sources of heating to stay warm, a modern electronic warfare warning system, fresh ammunition delivered via a (seemingly) decently secure supply chain, and overall having what seems to be a relatively chill, laid back group … I believe it’s fairly obvious that things could very easily be worse; most trench setups and living conditions often seem to be far worse for many if not most participants on both sides of this conflict. I have, on exception, seen kushier Russian command posts in this conflict, but those are obviously reserved only for top brass
