Elton John is an iconic British singer... his biggest hits were written by collaborator Bernie Taupin. Elton John got his start in the early 60's and he sang & played piano... but he reached superstardom in the 70's. Even though his songs and personality were marketed for a predominantly female audience, he would come out as gay in 1992 (he claimed he was bisexual in 1976). He shared the stage w/ rapper Eminem at the 2001 Grammy Awards performing the song 'Stan' singing the parts originally sung by Dido, and actually became good friends w/ Eminem... Elton John recently announced his retirement. Some of Elton John's biggest hits - 'Believe'... 'Candle in the wind'... 'Rocket man'... 'Nikita'... 'Goodbye yellow brick road'

I prefer to listen to great music at home using a good sound system, not in a car. Besides, when I was young, like you, where I grew up, I could only dream of owning a car. Not on the income my family had.
