The purity seal phenomena is an interesting one. Ignoring the raging leftists, I’ve seen people from eastern Christian orthodoxy debate this, some saying this is not appropriate to have actual priests bless these seals especially since it will be wielded by Christian’s who are fighting other fellow Christians. (Not to mention these seals are sold) On the other hand, there is very little wrong with blessing an item that will be carried by a soldier who not sure if he’s gonna come back from this conflict, and a small religious symbol can help maintain morale in a dark time. Not to mention, Christian battle flags and items have been a thing since antiquity so purity seals aren’t really much different. It’s an interesting debate.

Also the validity of russian ortodox priest being actual priests is highly questionable since the 1721 reform , and what was left of the church after 1924. Is more a section of KGB , then an autokephalic ortodox church.
