Russian Sovremenny Class Destroyer: Surface Strike Asset

The Sovremenny class destroyer, or project 956, was designed by the Soviet Union primarily for surface warfare. A total of 21 ships of this class has been constructed between 1980 and 2004 in St. Petersburg. As of right now eight ships remain in service, with four in the Russian Navy.
They are formidable in the offensive role with their supersonic cruise missiles, but they appear to have fairly low air defence capabilities and no stealth features, which reduce their suvivability. They are ideally used in a naval first strike.
