Looks like prices in Moscow similar to the ones in the UK, BUT the average UK monthly salary in USDs is about $3900, more in the city of London area with extra London rateing due to more expensive London property costs The middle income in the UK distribution can range between £29,000 and £65,000 per annum - that in USA $ is about $36,000 and $80,000 - depending on the type of household, that's monthly from about $4000 to about $6600

I actually just got back from the grocery store (Publix). I bought lunch meat, bread, cheese, water, lettuce and herbs, pet food, some canned food, sausage, soup broth, snacks, drinks and some other things... Spent just over $150. This is pretty common, actually my wife ends up spending about $200 - $250 a week for our family of 5.

​@@davidanderson7460my dude, perspective. My cousin works full time in Chelyabinsk (42 hours a week) and he earns 540$ roughly, add a 5-10% price increase in most products compared to Moscow prices. He has to spend around 180-200$ on super market alone per month, around 330 for rent, gas, taxes and leisure. Last time I checked internships (not full time regular jobs) in Canada, it was 1600 $ (34 hours).

Yeah... I'm going to just say you're lying. You wont feed 5 people, let's assume 3 children 2 adults, for 200-250 a week. This wouldn't even be a question of budgeting, or where you live in the US, it's just a lie. The only way this could not be a lie is if you're spending a lot of money eating out/ordering food.

What a crowd of people at that supermarket. Normally, I wouldn't spend much on holiday shopping but sometimes you have to make exceptions. For just myself, I would spend roughly $65 - $70. Prices unfortunately fluctuate during the holidays and it can get expensive. Last minute shopping is not at all uncommon but it does come with a blow to the wallet. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!!

@@Chikanuk Personally checked if there was (Russian-or-otherwise) "champagne-flavored Lays chips" anywhere, and this is the only place these eyes have seen them in existence. Really dislike the whole test-market thing, as there's plenty of customers elsewhere in the world that would love to purchase something for sale only in such places. (Don't get this user started on stupid, ineffective sanctions that only hurt innocent would-be customers; there's plenty of items, mainly clothing items, across Eastern Europe that this user has wanted to buy for years, but is saddened by the fact that there's no shipping to the States/Canada/Mexico/etc., let alone Western Europe in some cases) Caramel apple has been a recent coffee flavor for at least one major coffee retailer here in the States, it's bound to be a flavor of chip somewhere, if not by Lay's, either already or in the future, perhaps sooner than champagne-flavored chips would be! (The anti-drinking crowd is stronger in the west/States than in Eastern Europe, so there'd be some legal hurdles to make sure there's no alcohol in the chips and even then, it'd still be bashed by some as normalizing and celebrating drinking, so some "helicopter-parents" wouldn't want them on the shelves or buy them for their children, but there's whiskey/bourbon-flavored chips, condiments, spices and coffee all over the place, mostly without alcohol, but sometimes with it, so, one never knows)

7:47 in, WOW! Those bananas actually LOOK LIKE BANANAS that one might see in "Donkey Kong" video games over the decades! They look bright-yellow, in abundance, and fresh/ripe! Here in the States, muh own mother laments, near-daily, how bad the selection and variety is anymore! Besides so many chains and mom-and-pops going out-of-business, the ones left generally have a bad selection of fruits that are either "mushy" and/or are brown-or-green, when they shouldn't be. They pick them before they're ripe and then spray them with C02 after-the-fact to make them "appear" fresh and smell good, but when one actually buys them and bites into them, they're met with despair and feel cheated!

I was at the Asian store to get the grandkids fun fruits & veggies & my G7 coffee, it was so busy! And the drug store everyone trying to spend their insurance over-the-counter allowance cards, but the regular stores had clearance sales on all the Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween stuff aka pumpkin spice items. We have huge Costcos & Sams, but I like smaller stores Mom & Pop stores or Aldis as they pay the best wages with benefits and the cashier can sit down. I'm glad you got New Year's Eve treats and truly hope 2025 brings peace and prosperity to you and everyone.

The prices might be low, might be high. Hard to tell without context of what people are paid. For reference, how much would the store staff, those folks stocking the shelves and running the cash register, make in a week (or month.)

Hello Lisa, Happy New Year to You, comparing the prices in Russia and Poland at the moment in Poland the prices are similar, for all that stuff you would pay about 50 - 60 $, depends on what kind of champane, cheese, sweets you would buy. Cookies sausages, pork aspic could cost 1,5 $ or 5 $ depends of size and brand (own label brand or premium brands).
