Bought my last pair of glasses were from Warby Parker...not more optical at Costco here. Glasses totaled $400, insurance paid $250 of that included frames, progressive lenses with a transition coating that eliminates the need for separate regular glasses and sun glasses

Transition lenses were not an option for me as a photographer. It never could turn clear fast enough when going inside and outside taking photos for wedding or crime scenes.

Another option for glasses is online stores like Zenni Optical.

My eyeglasses change into sunglasses in the sun. So really all in one. I do have a darker pair of sunglasses that I can actually put over my prescription glasses when it is super sunny. I rarely have to do that.

Hey Russ, Costco is for EVERYTHING including glasses. We have Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage which includes optical and NO monthly HMO cost. Mrs.K pays $400 per year for contacts (very near sighted). Frames are expensive so she'll check out Costco frames. Get your eye exam, glasses and a slice of pizza all in one trip. Life is good!

Prices are decent at Costco.

I haven't had an eye exam in a few years. I'm wasting my eye insurance plan. 😆 I had lasik done back in 2012 which my lasik doctor told me I could buy readers from wherever I wanted.

Oh, one more thing (just like Columbo), I haven't purchased sunglasses maybe 10 years.

I knew it!! 😂 I thought, “as much time as Russ spends going to Costco, I’m betting that’s where he gets his glasses!” It only makes sense. Costco has an awesome optical department and, together with insurance, their prices are really hard to beat. I do the same as you. I get one pair of Rx glasses along with a pair of Rx sunglasses. Love them. Our whole family buys our glasses at Costco.

No optical insurance for me. My glasses are usually around $700 /-. I need to try some Costco glasses and see how I like them.

My husband hasn’t had an eye check-up in about 10 year’s. He went in last week and he has an eye bleed. I never heard of that, so now he has to go get a shot in his eye every 4 to 6 weeks whatever the doctor decides he needs. That won’t correct it. It will only keep it from further bleeding. so go get your eyes checked every year or two.
