@bl4ckh4t294 жыл бұрын
Kronin no I’m saying start out with lower pop servers so you can at least get some scrap, a base, some clothes, and maybe even some better weapons before having to fight anyone. If I play on a maxed server with 200-300 people I die within a minute and can’t even make a bow or any tools. Servers with 50-100 are the best, but usually low pop ones hover around 70-80.

I made this base for the entire wipe and about two days till the end we got top down raided by a clan. They decided to launch their remaining rockets from above us after constructing a raid tower on some rocks nearby. They cut a big hole to the ground floor where I was waiting with a shotgun. I blasted one of them but after that they used incen shotgun rounds to burn me alive in this beautiful base. After that there wasn’t much hope as my sleeping bag was burned too. Potential build improvements: 1. 7 large box storage room. 2. Reinforced glass window with embrasure for way more protection then a sheet door (or even better cross roof bunker for tc max protection including 1 large box) . 3. Bunker entrance into front door with drop down “undrainable” shotgun traps. 4. Bunker into core forcing minimum one HQM wall/ floor added to raid cost. 5. Compact minimum cost heli tower replacing shooting floor because tbh 2nd floor shooting floors are trash and easier to fight against than inside of from any decent cover. 6. Roof exit with a offline roof bunker seal. Bunkers are OP And popular for good reason. 7. Deployables such as lvl 1 bench and furnaces encased into honeycomb utilizing same low wall half wall build combo to increase storage space elsewhere. Also the raid cost would be helpful for viewers to see, in order to gauge the build cost to raid cost ratio when considering your design.

I still use this base design as the core and extend upon it when richer. I defiantly don’t feel like I get raided as often although I feel raiders tend to know this layout now and go straight for loot/TC every time. Would anyone say this is still a very relevant base designs or if there’s anything out there just as effective now?

Shooting floors are really only good if you are being online raided. As a solo player, this happens very rarely and when it does, i'm out numbered, so the floor doesn't turn the tide. On in short, waste of resources. Someone already pointed out the loud noise of the doors, so they know your active and where you are. Peeking is going to get you shot. Idea versus the reality of the 'game' is this base isn't functional, lack of storage, high cost. No thought on how am I going to place those first few sheets doors without a furnace... Some of your designs are good. Some thought of how the player with a rock building up from scratch I feel is a must do, with so many other Rust building channels out there.
@MyGamingExperience5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the feedback, i've been trying to figure the correct route from starter to complete base while taking into account the thing you said about using metal before furnaces and things like that.

The garage doors on the shooting floor make no sense whichever way you look at it
@furikurifan55 жыл бұрын
Currently running a modified version of this, but I just left the shooting floor wood with wood double doors. I'm also running 4 large boxes and a bbq/small box in the loot room and as a solo it's more than enough room. I started with the bottom floor in stone and a metal single door, metal double door, and wood single door. I got all the stuff for this by farming for 40 minutes on the way to outpost, then recycling and cashing in all my scrap for stone. Built the base a couple tiles away in the middle of the night. I agree there's no room if you had a duo, but it's worked well for me so far. Had the shooting floor up in wood a couple dozen trees later and haven't used it outside of compound bowing people I see running down the road from Outpost, and I could have done that with just roof access likely.

I've used this base design before I realized there was even a tutorial for it. I used double doors and kept my loot in a 1x2 near outpost so when I got hit I just listened to the sounds of my 5 shotgun traps going off as they had to go back and get two more stacks of satchels and wound up just breaking through my shooting floor once they had enough of the shotguns. I didn't use the first square as a drop box room and used it for traps I also added a triangle where the airlock connected the base itself and used two single doors one had another shotgun at the top with a flame at the bottom. I got raised but I pissed them off real good for that db and my 32 shells they got :)

Well in the video production i just hit J to delete the entity. I think flamethrowers is what people use, or a satchel charge would be good. You can use tools on it i think but it may take a bit.

For a solo player or duo I think this is plenty of storage. The second floor 1x1 could easily fit some shelves you can walk past and 4 boxes as well as some of the lower rooms. You could use the upper floor for furnaces too as long as people can't access them. For a bigger group or a monthly server it might be worth going for a bigger design that costs more. This little base would be great for a weekly vanilla though just by the cheap upkeep cost alone and how much defense it offers. I always kinda liked the idea of high defense over as much loot space because I want anyone who raids me to feel as fucked over as possible and not worth it.

On console Rust with friends and we’re trying to be compact and small for this weekly wipe. Mainly because we started late into the week. My other guys hate tight bases. They actually are starting to love this one and think it’s so intelligently designed! We actually decided to add an additional level and are essentially making two shooting floors, but the top will have more storage and things that are more suitable for a 4 man living compact.
@MyGamingExperience3 жыл бұрын
An additional level would be ideal for this base, it does lack some storage space
