NO WAY! I have been playing rust for over a year, and about 2 months ago I came across this base, I saw it was offline, and I decided to build some twig and soft side one of the walls on the shooting floor, because he forgot to place a window shutter. While soft siding I constantly thought of how stupid this guy was to leave his shooting floor wood, have parts of the base seemingly randomly upgraded to stone and metal. after doing that I grabbed some satchels and broke the top door, and then although I knew there could have been a shotgun trap, I just jumped down thinking there's no way this noob would have thought of placing one... well he did, after blowing thought the door I was killed by the shotgun traps and could not get my stuff back. This base is fantastic at disguising how expensive and difficult it is to raid. Great vid!

@lashedandscorned5 жыл бұрын
I love this base. It's extremely cheap to build and to upkeep, and has room for upgrades. Building your own take of this is very easy to do, and you can expand it. I upgrade the whole second floor to stone, which only makes the upkeep in total around 1k stone. This might be a starter base but its good enough for the whole wipe as a main base, provided you have done some upgrades to the original design, upgraded important things to armored and most of the first floor to sheet metal, honeycombed it and/or expanded it. You can also make a third floor out of wood. Adding your own electronics such as remotely operated turret pods, or opening the front door with a portable transmitter can be done too. Screw 2x2s, this is my new go to base design. Your best solo/duo/starter so far. EDIT: But holy shit that HBHF whatever sensor electronic thing was such a big brain move. The raider will see the open door, get inside, raid the entrance door to the first floor then the door will close, and he will get memed by shotgun traps. And once he's dead, the door closes and he lost a bunch of explosives, and destroying his motivation at the same time. 200 IQ.

Lmao just started playing rust. Built only a couple of 2x2's at first and then saw your videos and decided to give it a try even though it seemed very intricate. I've built it three times now and am starting to get a feel for the game and this base has kept me relatively safe, EXCEPT for when I scavenged a VERY lazy raid on a large clam base one grid away from me. I simply stole their garage door and an armored door and I could tell when I came back and realized I got offline that they were pissed. They door raided and found out there were layers of shotgun traps hidden behind increasingly difficult doors, so they turned around and blew the back of my loot room out lol thanks for the good times.

If you have already upgraded the loot room walls to metal you can still place the boxes and barbecues, you have to freehand the middle barbecue and then place the 2 boxes next to it. It is easy to do if you have a teammate who can remove the large box after you lined it up, then you can move just a tiny bit to the side your box was on and place it, then place the other large boxes.

Pros and Cons about this base : Pros : Cost effective, Trio starter, 7+ Large box loot room, Drop-down Shute with shotgun traps, Shooting floor, able to fit a locker and more. Cons : People can easily build twig floors on your base and shoot in from a hard angle (This is something I've noticed a lot, and really makes it difficult to have this base), The loot room doesn't contain of just large boxes, it has instead got 4 large boxes, 8 small boxes and 2 barbecues. I have only 500 hours of rust I'm a casual player who sometimes comes to farm a little and loot some barrels just to relax. and for the first time I was able to stay out of the game for 24 hours and stop an offline raid. it may seem ridiculous but I am a very casual player. I left the upstairs with some double wooden doors which must have made the raider greedy. his problems started when he found the shootgun trap. about 200 cartridges were enough for him to give up there and I still haven't finished the electrical part. I strongly advise this design if you play on a solo-only server. this design will surely be able to stop several raids of poorly prepared players. with luck you will be able to make a whole wipe without being completely broken. Hey Evil Wurst. Loved it, it was really great to see and to get a fantastic understanding from it. Its certainly going to be on some maps out there and I'm sure that I'll see it out and about. I saw one of your designs on another base which was great to see. Sadly I do understand how it can be then a counter hit. Something that I love is the Leech with the new changes with the auto turrets its made it interesting to see how they are doing for the auto turrets.

That's the thing with all my bases: I design them in mind with the idea that raiders have seen the video. Regarding the Leech, it's true that it requires an upgrade. However, I am on a break from YT and won't be doing this any time soon.

Hehehe, thank you. However, I am basically getting asked to do ALL kinds of bases all the time. This means, whichever base I do, I will satisfy some viewers' requests.

I love the Thrifty scot. And it has just gotten better! I would add a few more things like covering the wall of lootroom with stone, because 500 upkeep of stone is very very cheap. I would also add the locker and workbenches inside the honeycombs, as well as furnaces. Once you've obtained the window frame you could substitute all the lower walls with it and, providing you place those aforementioned items inside the honeycomb.

I was thinking about that as well. However, I was worried that with every added foundation, the base becomes are more interesting target. In the end, the Thrifty Scot and the Mini Fort stay often un-raided, because they do not look like worthwhile targets.

Good little tip, keep some metal frags on your repair bench for your tc window, it costs 5 metal frags to repair.
