It’s not even just graphics. Even if they allow for better graphics on new gen, I’m gonna turn it down regardless. I just want more content in the game. We are literally playing 2018 rust pretty much.

I do believe adding mini's into rust is possible. Since if you look at Ark, another survival game that was on old gen. They have flying dinosaurs that can get you around the map quickly, and that game was built for the original Xbox 1 and PS4.

when you look at a game like gta with a ridiculous amount of detail from mountains all the way to trash cans rats etc all kinds of little tiny details all over the map, it's crazy how far rust console could be pushed if it weren't for the old gen part of the contract. the dev team is finally starting to figure out what they're doing so i'm thinking/really hoping this year will be huge for rce. qol that came this week was definitely a great start on the right track, and of course the banning of cheaters.

@@CStewWV of course they are, they've managed to produce a game that has, in the last 15+ years been improved and optimized for consoles so yes obviously gta will be better than current state rust in terms of content and quality fps etc. on another hand though, gta is a console game that has impressed me, of course it'll run fine on pc but on console you'd think there'd be issues. not to mention the fact that old gen still runs gta at a pretty good rate of 60fps. rce on the other hand runs literally about 5-10. my point in saying it was that it's cool to think about how much is possible, when given time and more experience like rockstar has had. in my opinion it's completely fair to compare, id like to see rust at the top of the charts as would their devs, and in order to do that they really do have to stand out or do something that will turn heads formally speaking. there's an absolutely massive playerbase on pc, the fact that there's huge opportunity for d11 in rce is a no brainer. there's a lotta kids and even young adults that play console games, and would like something like rust but don't want to spend the money on a pc. if they play their cards right, i really think it could work its way to #1. no other game is quite as addictive or unique as rust in the feeling you get while playing

It's not even company size that matters in comparison.. these games are made on different engines using different features and functions unity is baseline crap , and will be the roadblock here it's less a old gen thing because new and old gen are optimised different hence during beta new gen got extra work as it kept blue screen for anyone using it .. 4 K hrs and I can remember when new gen was the issue and where the bugs really began remember being locked out of the game on my Xbox one whilst others with next gen after that specific update could happily load in yet the day literally the day before the game was playing seamless on my Xbox one albiet at a low frame rate but that's expected on console ...it comes down to the engines specific functions and they're also limited by the ram pool and Xbox and Sony each using different code Sony using a open source C+ type code and Xbox being proprietary also , crossplay servers also have latency issues etc because of the aforementioned services making crossplay have a large impact on server quality .. Xbox only servers I join lag less frequently then Xbox PS crossplay servers .. too bad if your friends a bum and can't afford to be a real gamer .. ill clarify for the meak ...real gamers they have every console a PC the handheld consoles etc etc we game we don't care what platform.. and if my mates on PC and I'm on console we live with it and move on ..

This game is absolute torture to play on old gen, especially as a solo. There is absolutely nothing you can do against new gen players. The only thing you can do is play on dead servers and play looting simulator. There is no fun to be had on old gen, and as a person who plays on a ps4 I genuinely do not understand why this game was ever made crossplay. They should have just made it a new gen exclusive because the game can barley even fucking function on old gen.

Not going to watch this please forgive me fellow gamers. But I’ve had 12+ consoles in my life since I was 12. I’m 36 now so yeah I’m still young/older but a veteran gamer at that and I love this. Get next gen it’s the closest it’s ever been to gaming computers. I’ve had all PlayStation gens & Xbox gens. Sega, Nintendo it goes on. Do me a favour save up get your pc specs and parts sorted. Thank me after you have done that because once you go gaming computer stuff you never go back. I used to have my console in living room then go back to my bed room and play my gaming computer. I’ve been threw 4 builds now on gaming computers. All I have is my gaming computer now. So when you can get off that old console. Save or get a job ask for Christmas present kiddies or what ever. Next gen is good though if you don’t want to muck about with gaming computer stuff.

Rust is made using Unity Engine they're not going to port the game over to a completely new engine that would be a massive project

New gen would still struggle with this game. Like do you realize pcs can really struggle to run the game at a solid frame rate. So you move it to new gen and update it to the point of pc I promise the 16gb of ramm on new gen will still experience frame rate issues.

Yall dont understand not everyone can buy a newer console. I play old gen and Its not bad, a couple of jitters here and there but overall its not a reason for D11 to fully drop the old gen consoles that will just be the same thing COD did with Mw 2019... Yall make it like old gen is horrible when in reality it really not... If people want to complain about the older consoles "holding RCE back" then buy a PC and play pc rust.

Double eleven arnt that small, just stretched thin and over ambitious! They have their original studio in Middlesbrough, one in leeds, VOO FOO studio in Birmingham and they opened two dev studios in Kuala Lumpur! And a studio or offices in Guildford...As of April 2022 they are said to have over 300 staff... So not bedroom stuff!

the 2020 one isnt weak it runs rust nicely and the load times are fast for how small it is its almost as fast as the ps5 and the series x the small series S is so small too the fact it can run games the way it does is impressive and you could take it anywhere i personally love this thing and catch myself using it more then my pc for certain games

And to clarify the problem with old gen and new gen... Series S and Series X dont have complty different hardware as you stated...the CPUs are identical and this is what makes the new eco systems 'SCALABLE! Both have the same zen2 Rzn 3600x 8c,16t...PS5 has it as well! The GPU and Ram of series S is about the same as One X in performance but the CPU is twice as powerful ... it's nolonger CPU bound like the old JAG cores in the old PS4 and xbox one, which is the biggest problem for developers on old gen! For example "Sea of thieves" because it's also a UNITY game. On old gen, xb1- 1080p 30fps... xb1x - dynamic 2160p 30fps. 1080p 60 fps is very unstable on OneX and struggles to hit the 60fps target period! On new gen.. Series S 1080p 60fps locked... SeriesX 4k 60fps locked

Tbh I think rust is just held back by console in general. I have friends playing on old PCs, that cost less than new gen console, and they still get to experience the full version of rust at around 60fps. Bottom line, if anyone is really trying to play rust they owe it to themselves to switch to pc. The difference between the 2 is much more massive than graphics or monuments. Console rust is like a much worse version of 2017 rust and pc is constantly evolving with big monthly updates. 2 completely different games.

In a update you can include things and save the file for one side and continue development for the more advanced side so that way if you can tune and add more features one might not have. And you most certainly can adjust the graphics in just not as simple as a click of a button.

Just like a vr headset quest 1 I played had no grass at all in a game but that same exact game had grass in quest 2 and that ssme exact game had insane crazy cranked up stuff for quest 3 but you won't ever see those same things on the others you would on there in visuals. And just to toss it out there. If a ps5 constant crashing and getting errors from rust during the testing branch that kinda says alot. And this is rust this has nothing to do with other games. And guess what? Call of duty runs just fine on the old Gen although series x I love to death the old Gen runs great. I rather see the consoles get everything squeezed out of them to there full performance rather then abandon it the consoles ain't as bad people makes it out to be. Ps4 people I know played just fine xbox played just fine. New gen is nice and all but if games can play on them just fine I don't see a valid argument. Just like a 1080 rtx should pc aaa studios say screw them? No, they make it good enough and optimized enough so they can play. Rust runs mid on my 3k gaming pc, console is just fine, the problem is rust is a old gen game. Make a separate game FOR new gen, the reason they dont do this is because it would cost more money to open more servers. Thats why they choose to have rust to be cross platform

the series S is good i smack ppl all the time and i always play official servers against ps5 players and the series S runs so smooth compared to the shitty ps4 you’ll feel the huge difference especially with a good monitor that can run 120hz and has vsync the only difference is you get higher resolution options on the ps5 and xbox series X and it allows you to be able to play with true 4k

Ps4 pro rust is TRASH it’s completely unplayable. I played it for 150 hours it stutters stops burps hiccups takes a dump on you in the worst moments. Can’t even run thru an open field with zero bases around without stuttering and the console having a heart attack even with all things done to reduce the amount of data usage. Now with that being said, running past a big base / compound just makes you want to toss the ps4 / old gen in the trash. Just bought a ps5 bc of this. I should get a PC but It’s going to be a while before I get that. Im not in a spot to own a pc right now
