One thing I didn't find until I cleaned the shop up today (after this video was filmed) I have an old can of Würth Film (they discontinued that name and it's now called Corrosion Protection Spray) it says it's supposed to be good on paint, so I'll try that stuff on another snowblower and let you guys know what I think of it!

Great advice, and the money paid for all of those products is worth every penny. Don't neglect your machines, people. The Blower I bought for $1,029 in 2018 is now listing for $2,099. Yes, more than DOUBLE. Taking an hour or so to protect your investment is just common sense.
@EliminatorPerformance Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, like I said it's what, $12.50 worth of products and maybe an hours time to run the fuel through and spray down the snowblower. Definitely worth it!
@waynestefinashen239 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely 100% correct Paul hopefully viewers will read this comment. 2023 is the year of major price increases! Even the cost of buying used equipment is increasing because of this not to mention the cost of replacement parts to service and repair this equipment.

They have the old "Würth Film" now called "Corrosion protection spray" I might give that a try, it's supposed to be good on paint too. I just found a can in the back of the shop after I cleaned today. I had a Würth rep stop by years ago and give us some cans to try, it's good stuff, but a bit on the expensive side.

We have seen many aluminium mower decks come in that were totally pitted (badly) from spring fertilizers being trapped in the wet grass that sticks to the deck and the customers do not clean them underneath to remove the debris.

@@waynestefinashen239 that is the best thing to do is keep the mower deck in clean condition

Good to know...will rust proof my new blower...up here in Bancroft they spray calcium on the road for dust control...highly corrosive when it turns to mud in the winter.

Just used the Krown from E Shine in Port Colborne on a push mower deck with their new spray cans they have out, works amazing. They have the attached spray nozzle like WD40 has that locks in a down position for storage and even comes with a safety lock that you can pull out then just push back in. Stores much easier than the spray cans with red tubes which sometimes fly off.

I was going to ask if you can use wax instead of the rust inhibitor, but you answered that, Cars are more expensive than snowblowers, have you ever treated a car with that rust inhibitor? Would a post winter wash and spray down perhaps add years to the life of a car/truck?
@EliminatorPerformance Жыл бұрын
Yes my truck gets undercoated with Rust Cure Formula 3000 every October/November before the winter! My truck is basically brand new underneath, as I got it in September brand new back in 2019 and it went right in for undercoating a month later lol and yes, post wash would probably be a good thing, as it would clear the salt off the paint. I didn't get a chance to use this snowblower this year unfortunately.
