I was pleasantly surprised at how well the floor turned out, especially considering how bad it was and the minimal amount of time and money invested! I know it's not the proper repair, but it will get the car on the road, allowing Trevor and I to enjoy it for a year or two. ~ Nick

My first car I did many things like that. I didn't have the skills or equipment. I was 12 when I started on it. Now I'm 46 and doing it all again. It still looks great. I'm just applying the skills I have acquired now.

Keep at it kid!!! I restored my first car starting at 12. I learned how to negotiate at swap meets. Learned to ignore jealous classmates at school with silly claims. Learned to build my first engine. Now I built around 20 race engines a year and spend winters restoring and customizing cars. 3 weeks ago our one of a kind T-bucket made its debut at 2 car shows. And about to lay out our paint plans for a 35 Plymouth coupe.

I really like the fact that you're getting the kid involved. Not only is he going to see and learn how to fix these but it also gives him the chance to possibly fix something else in the future. This is a good father-son project and the time together he will remember when he's an old man.

The reasons you mention were some of the main drivers in us deciding to take a project like this on. I was lucky to do the same thing with my father and am very grateful for the experience. ~ Nick

@@AutoTechNick if you're lucky enough to have your father around still...get him on here with you guys and it will be good for all of you! Also something your son and you might have many years from now. Even if he's just bringing parts out to you guys from his house this is about you and your son after all and those moments that last considering time sure flies quick!

The floors needed some emergency repairs but are not in to bad of shape considering the age . Nice job .

Honestly, the floors are pretty shot. But they are patched up good enough, until we decide to really dig into it. ~ Nick

Looks like a good project. That little air saw works good. I need to get one
@AutoTechNick2 ай бұрын
Those air saws are fantastic. If you buy one, be sure to get one that is gear driven. They have much more power. The cheaper ones don’t have the same torque allowing the blade to get stuck in the metal. They are not nearly as effective. ~ Nick

That rust converter you sprayed on the floors is not going to stop anything!
