Best TJ frame repair on KZbin but the audio. Oh my. Might I suggest doing a voiceover to the entire video so we can hear the important details? As TJ's continue to age, repairs like this and videos like this are going to be needed more and more.

Yeah the audio was pretty bad. I will look into redoing that with a voice over. Thanks for the feedback

@@shaunsgarage1091 Thanks for the reply Shaun. As many KZbinr's don't bother replying, I wasn't expecting one. There's a good market for your video to be voice over'd as finding good condition, non-rusty CJ and Wrangler frames is becoming MUCH harder and frame resto is an almost guaranteed necessary evil of our hobby. I've done thorough research into the resto process and products to use and your video ticks off all the necessaries. Doing a redub of your video would be worth it simply for the KZbin view count and would help many doing the same research I did. Cheers. 🤙

Now keep it out the salt and snow. It will last long time. I used OSPHO before I sprayed the inside of my frame, you can’t get to all the rust so this product is a must

I dig that spray can paint line deal that you did , inside your frame...Cool.

Hi, great video btw. For you to be cutting into the frame that high up and leaving so little steel from the original frame, am I right to say that you need to have all the weight off of the frame? (so it won't buckle..) You wouldn't cut that thin if the axle, tub, wheels etc. were still on there, would you? Thanks

Why remove the weld threw primer
@stevez78543 жыл бұрын
You need a tool called a needle scaler, take care of those tough to reach rust spots

So how hard is it to lift body up say 18”? Thanks
@shaunsgarage10913 жыл бұрын
It wouldn’t be to hard. Everything still needs to be disconnected still. I am rebuilding my steering gear box because I forgot that shaft the first time and went to lift and tore a seal.

Was that mig or flux weld?
@shaunsgarage10913 жыл бұрын
It was mig. Flux would work as well.

What part is it that you got for the rear frame part you welded? Do you have a link for it?
@shaunsgarage10914 жыл бұрын
I got them on amazon. just look up TJ rear frame repair cap

Awesome job! Do you happen to remember your welding amperage settings?
@shaunsgarage10914 жыл бұрын
I do not. I tend to weld a little on the hotter side to get a flatter weld. I have the Miller auto set welder so it’s almost dummy proof.

I’ll sell you a 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ. If you look on my page. You’ll see my 2005 TJ. Nothing is wrong with it. It’s in mint condition. Been garage kept. No rust. Runs great.

Friend of mine bought a 94 jeep in 96, he noticed it wasn't driving right so I looked under it ,I noticed the frame was cracked in 3 places ,these jeeps are literally junk right off the line
@shaunsgarage10913 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s to bad Jeep didn’t learn from all the rust issues they had with the CJ’s
@parkhills17303 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how much abuse and how much salt and not correctly washed after being exposed does this happen to the framework of the TJ’s.
