Snap on needs to stick with wrenches and sockets leave the power tools to Milwaukee
@josephjackson37464 жыл бұрын
Ive had the Milwaukee one since earlier this year and its one of my favorite power tools. I use 4.0 batteries and do some pretty heavy grinding with it and use it to cut up to 1/8” steel. Just grinding it hardly ever cuts out and cutting steel it’ll cut off after about 45 seconds. Works absolutely great cutting off bolts on rusty salt ridden Ohio steel

You would think Snap On would be doing their own comparison tests against competitors tools before releasing them

I have had the Milwaukee since just around the time they came out. It’s works awesome. When we get corrosion on wheels and hubs here in Buffalo it super quick and easy to just grab it and clean everything up. I’m currently at 10 m12 batteries and I use the 4.0 with the grinder and it lasts a long time. For my money no one is better than Milwaukee for battery powered tools.

Another Snap on swing and a miss. It's just embarrassing at this point, the M12 Stubby beat the NEW 18v Snap on CT-9010 mid torque impact! And we don't need to mention the price difference. This die grinder is a joke, 1. no variable speed trigger 2. No light 3. Higher voltage and less power and much less run time 4. bigger size 5. Snap on approved over pricing strategy 6. Cheap looking battery indicator that is mostly useless. Snap on needs to drop the power tools division and stick to hand tools and cabinets( which are good). I do like the magnet accessory for the battery but that's it. Good video man, keep up the good work.

@jeffreydeutsch73363 жыл бұрын
The main difference is that SnapOn followed the design of air grinders and uses a rt. angle gear in the head that minimizes the width and depth of the head. Milwaukee has the motor in the head, which limits the size of the motor; it cannot run 3" rolocs, per Milwaukee. It will trip out. The head is about the size of a 2" roloc. Milwaukee avoiding the rt angle gears saves power and cost. On the other hand, keeping the motor in the handle, like the air motor in a pneumatic grinder, SnapOn could have made the motor as big as they wanted, they could have gone to 18 volts, they could have supplied enough power to easily overcome the losses in the rt. angle gears, but sadly, they did not. I like the SnapOn approach better. I don't care how long the handle is, I want the smaller head, but they blew it in the execution. They need to redo it with more motor.
@suspekt6702 Жыл бұрын
I run mine with 3" roloc, doesn't trip if you just use it to strip paint and rust off stuff.

Great video and thanks for posting. Protect your lungs! that is some nasty stuff flying around there. Many shipyard workers suffer from not wearing their PPE properly or not wearing it at all. After years of bad practice their lungs get damaged. The Milwaukee is only rated for up to a 2 inch wheel, you may get a longer run time with the smaller wheel.

I think in the future snap on should make some prototypes and give it to people like you to review and give critsim and concerns to make it a better product before launch. Don't get me wrong I love snap on but I think Milwaukee seems to have a better product at at better price point.

Now with that being said, the first shipment of the tool I sold may had a lower cutoff then now. I have not had any of my customer call me like I did when first sold them. The ones I did return to Milwaukee for this problem no longer cut off like they did. I do like how long and short the head is with the Snap-On tool. I also do not like how there no paddle switch. I had the Milwaukee right angle die grinder and it was cutting out at least as much as the snap on . I returned the Milwaukee and will stick with something that can take some hard work. Yes the Milwaukee I had had a xc 3.0 amp hour battery and it definitely gets worse as the battery runs down. BUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN A FEATHERS TOUCH IT WILL CUT OFF . IT WOULD SHUT OFF JUST FROM THE OCCASIONALLY BOUNCING AND SKIPPING WHILE USING. It will take a lot longer to grind something with batteries than air because of thermal cut out.
