In fact, the sword he made is useless, it has several cracks and was badly tempered... if you hit it with something solid it will break, and if you do a flexibility test it will surely bend or break. It is only used for display or cutting very soft objects.

As a gun lover, it broke my heart to see a restorable Martini Henry destroyed. The end result was cool, just sad to see the rifle gone. Also for the before and after at the end, you showed a Mauser bolt action instead of the Martini Henry. You may have mixed up some footage.

And well… restorable, but at very, very high cost. And those types of restorers are rare and scattered. The owner may not have been able to invest, but wanted to keep some portion of the relic - with new life - in the family. Moreover, they just aren’t worth as much as it would cost to restore it. Likely, by a wide margin.

Yeah, a Katana's curve comes from the quenching, because of the different hardness of steel created by the procedure that makes the Hamon. When quenched it curves, it is not made curved, the curve is technically a defect caused by the Hamon. There was a guy that was making some sword and his sword was curving mysteriously, until he got what was happening and he made a reverse curve in the original blade, and when quenched it became straight.

As a gun lover this hurt me but seeing it forged into a katana seems fitting for it since the barrel is usually made from quality steel so that katana should hold a nice edge and last quite a long time

The curve looks like a saber at first but after few searches I found out that it's similar to the curve of katana from 1811( I can't quite remember 😆).. But awesome katana I love the handle and guard 😄🧡🧡🧡

This video is why KZbin needs to return the feckin dislike counter. Destroyed a recoverable antique rifle for a mall sword, and not even a properly made one.

Катана замечательная, но винтовка Пибоди-Мартини, даже в таком состоянии, имела коллекционную ценность. Так что иначе, чем уничтожением раритетного оружия, я это назвать не могу.

That's a pretty extreme curve on that katana not sure if that would be any good or not

Dude you destroyed a very restorable rifle to make a historically inaccurate japanese style sword. It's not even a katana, Hell it wasn't even a Tachi. C'mon dude, you can absolutely do better than this. That rifle was entirely fixable and had way more historical value than some POS mall ninja crap.

Получилось отлично но ради этого не стоило уничтожать старинную винтовку!!!!Ее надо было востановить а на катану металла и получше можно было найти.
