FINALLY BACK - reuploaded due to a few rule misses (details at 05:14 & 10:48). As 12 challengers are brought together by a sudden outbreak in dimensional shifts, the curtain rises on a new battle! Separated from Taiki, Nene and the others, Mervamon and Ignitemon wander through an unfamiliar area until they stumble upon a human male accompanied by a menacing-looking Digimon. When they approach him for help, they are greeted by a cold, sinister smile. "I've never seen Digimon like you two before. Tell me, are you strong?" It seems the time has come to open the Digital Gate once more... NEXT BATTLE: Jijimon VS Phoenixmon Thoughts on both decks: (1) From playtesting, I really don't enjoy the BlackWarGreymon X deck. Similar to when we first got Jesmon in BT-06, I feel it does too much for the amount of resource paid, notable examples being going into new Grey X for 0, then BT8 MetalGrey or the new MetalGrey X for 2, and of course Hades Force. And even though BWGX's effects sound like interaction on the opponent's turn, it is largely uninteractive. Depending on matchup, they largely shut down the opponent's strategic options - more of a floodgate than anything else. (2) I really wanted to give Mervamon a spot in this tournament due to the absence of Minervamon in the Xros Encounter Wars, and I also didn't want to go the Xros Heart route since the deck has more than enough representation already. So while it might be a bit janky, I decided to go for a full combo build making use of the new Retaliation support cards this set. Not the most consistent, for sure, especially against BWGX which just says no to aggro and deletion, but it was fun! I'm glad it at least managed to pull off some craziness on camera haha. With a fully setup Trash, it can even force a 2nd Minerva [On Delete] of its own by playing an additional Ignitemon from the Trash for its [On Attack], overwhelming the opponent with 2 Merva's worth of Rush!

@@CodenameJD But to be fair, as the BT11 meta is taking shape, BWGX does seem to have decent counters. I recall youre a fan of Draco/Exa right? The deck didnt manage to shine much post-EX3 due to the unending reign of aggro Xros Heart, but with BWGX posing a lethal threat to that, Exa is starting to see more presence as a BWGX punisher. Not only is Exa out of reach of Hades Force, Slayer/Break can resist it with , and forcing BWGX to attack into a Block is 1 of the most efficient ways to eliminate it

That also just makes me excited for the future of the game, if its able to have decks that shine for a while, but when new decks are able to check those it enables older cards to see more play too.

Yea after playtesting, I really don't like how it does almost everything. I feel like maybe without the Security trash effect, it would be slow enough to justify all the defences its getting. But now it's a heavy control deck with the win speed of midrange, maybe even borderline aggro

It already is "one of those decks". Like i said, it is a strong candidate for ban list because if built correctly, ( and it's not hard with so many draws and searches ) you can just keep playing with the opponent by attacking his unsuspended digimons, cleaning his board every fucking turn and don't even need to bother touching the security, avoiding any security effect. Mugendramon has a great protection, but it is not refoundable. The same with WarGreymon X, but this BWGX CAN! Your opponent will have to cast 2 delete options or something to delete it, because other else, you can just put another X-Antibody option under it in your turn if you have in your hand and protect it once again. Not only that, but Yuuya protects Greymons from Dedigivolving. His toolbox is REALLY overpowered.

@@ricardoportellaantunesrica3559 It's not Yuuya that protects from DeDigi, it's MetalGreymon X's effect. Yuuya protects a digimon whose name includes 'Greymon' that X evolved from _ALL_ option cards. That includes the otherwise absolute removal of Astral Snatcher and Chaos Degrade.

@@ricardoportellaantunesrica3559 Ohoho yeah. Greymon X and Hades Force are, in my opinion, the two problem cards in the deck. Greymon X for protection and massive acceleration, and Hades Force for a 5 cost mass-removal. Combined with the already bordering-on-overpowered Cool Boy making Greymon X even more of a net positive (and letting you go from level 4 to level 6 in one turn, AND potentially searching your X Antibodies), and BWGX just rolls over into ridiculous. BWGX is hands-down my least favourite BT11 deck.

Well, good to know that of the six decks I'm rooting for (Taiga, Akiho, Sukamon, Galacticmon, Petrov, & Bagra Army) at least two are guaranteed to make it to round 2. Shame the remaining two are against such top contenders though. Anyway, amazing showing. Was really rooting for Mervamon with all of its sick plays (and epic unique soundtrack) but BWGX is considered a meta contender for a reason I suppose.

The entirety of a card's effect is resolved before the next checks for its activation condition! Or, in other words, Digimon card effects only need to meet their activation condition at the time of activation, not the time of trigger. It's the same logic as how you can attack with Hexe while your opponent has 1 mon with evo sources, use the [On Attack] to strip sources and then fulfill the condition for Majiramon's inheritable even though at the trigger moment of [On Attack], the condition was not met. In the same vein, it is impossible to stack the effects of multiple Mireis cos, even tho they all meet their activation condition at the time of trigger, they do not meet it once the 1st Mirei resolves

05:14 Not a rule miss exactly, but I forgot that I could evolve into BWGX [On Attack] using X-Antibody's inheritable and ended up evolving into it normally. Adjusted to be the optimal play. 10:48 I attacked with Mervamon first yesterday cos I thought BWGX couldn't afford to Block in that situation (if it became suspended, it would be vulnerable to multiple Retaliation or high DP attacks), and thus ended up not Blocking. However, BWGX should have Blocked cos if Mervamon is deleted, the Soulmons and Minervamon will lose their since it is from Merva's continuous effect. So Mervamon is the one that should not attack in that situation.

Personally, I'm happy BWG is very powerful. But I have to admit the new support is overtuned. I'm still going to play it because it's my main deck and has been for a while, a long with gaiomon , and a little less but blackwarX, being my favorite Digimon. I'm sad that so many people hate the deck now (I can't blame them but it still sucks)

This Black WarGreymon X is RIDICULOUSLY STRONG! It is a HUGE counter for ALOT of decks, it can simply clear all the tamers from Xros Heart's field with Hades Force, it has a GIANT defensive power, an amazing offensive, a cruel and persistance presence in the field, and a REALLY ANNOYING every turn free control. BWGX with Virus MetalGreymon from BT08 and this new Virus MetalGreymon X under it is the most annoying thing EVER. It can attack your unsuspended digimons all the time freely with a GIANT DP to control, and don't even need to bother touching the opponent's security to risk the effect of an option or from a security digimon effect. It can just give the middle finger to the opponent and keep killing there bodies to abuse Reboot, making it unsuspend on the opponent's turn so Virus MetalGreymon X can trigger even with an empty field. I really tried to stop this deck with almost all of my other decks and only a fill could. Only the ones with a REALLY STRONG field presence and comeback potential could give him a challenge, like Black Imperialdramon from EX3 and Mastemon's new deck but only by using Ophanimon Fall Down Mode's support. BWGX is a REALLY STRONG candidate for ban list later on, unless they come with a counter. Prepare yourself because i really don't know how to beat this beast of a Dragonkin without a strong comeback like Black Imperialdramon EX3.

imo the new Virus MetalGrey X isn't even the big problem. It's the new Virus Greymon X that is. It makes your BT8 MetalGrey cost 2 to evolve into AND gives a refillable protection.

With him and Virus MG from BT08 under BWGX you can attack unsuspended, then end the turn, reboot, kill another of the opponent's digimon, remove 1 security card, and stay up to block TWICE. If you have the ST Tai it can block a third time. Yuuya can protect against Dedigivolve, Virus Greymon X has a recicleable protection because you can place another X-Antibody after the first use, and you can finish with Omegamon X, without triggering the opponent's security effect ONCE. Thats really bullshit.

Xros Heart dies if he uses Hades Force to wipe out ALL there generals at once without hope of a comeback. Same with Bagra and Dark Knight. Jijimon and Rust Tyranno suffers from the same weakness of depending too much on tamers. Mugendramon is not that fast and not that strong to beat it. KingSukamon can hold it up a bit and can counter it, because it'll not be able to use it's protection effect if it is transformed into Sukamon, but KingSuka needs more suport, unless its just a meme low tier deck. Gaomon may be fast enough sometimes, but if a Hades Force comes in time, there is no comeback. Mirei in the other hand, can try to survive, but BT08 BlackWarGreymon can remove her as well and when i was playing with BWGX's deck, no one could stop me. Not even with Mirei abusive easy jogress, with Beelzebumon's ridiculous control power or even with Dorbickmon's one turn security burst. This deck can agro, this deck can block, this deck don't even need to touch and trigger opponent's security effect. It is a HUUUUUGE middle finger to Security Control decks. I love that Sec Controls are been hated by Bandai this much for them to release such a beast to crush them to the ground, but this is too much. BWGX needs to go to ban list with Virus MetalGreymon X ASAP.

The MetalGreymon X isn't the source of deletion prevention. That only prevents DeDigi. It's the new Greymon X that prevents deletion/bouncing, and Yuuya can also give that effect to a Greymon that X evolves (or goes into Alterous Mode).

Am quite surprised to see that you're not running Revival From The Darkness to generate possibly more blockers for Mervamon, especially when you combo it with Back For Revenge and Minervamon. The Decklist for Mervamon could've been better but good match anyway! BWG X is super OP so, it's nice to see that non-XCross Mervamon deck can held up pretty well against it.

Well: Revival from darkness - 4 cost to get 1 additional Lv5 Blocker and most likely ends your turn Pandemonium flame - 2 cost and you get to remove 1 opposing attacker up to Lv6, can easily refund the 2 memory to go into an immediate offensive. And if u revive an Ignitemon and give to , it can kill your Minerva again for double Merva in a single turn. So thats why I personally prefer Pandemonium. Revival can be good in some situations esp for loop builds, but mine isnt a loop build

Imo I'm actually rooting for Xros Heart because the X7 variants are more fun to play. They lose out on a lot of the insane aggro BT10 variants can pull off, but they play more like a Toolbox, with a kit to fit many different situations (without rolling over into absurdity like BwargX does), which I think better thematically captures the flavour of Digixros.

I think hades force must be 8 cost or more it is to strong for cheaper version of Gaia Force. I mean yeah megadeath was 5 play cost to but can only target suspended digimon and also not multipel target removel. I probably okey if hades force is the same cost as gigadeath as 9 cost. Tamer deletion was good but can delete multiple tamer or digimon only for 5 was insane.

Nope, Digimon card effects have both Trigger (on delete) and Activation (opp has 2 or less Digimon) Conditions. As long as the Activation Condition is met at the time of Activation (the moment you choose to resolve a pending triggered effect), it works. You can check the Digimon card wiki for more details. But to illustrate a bit, going by your logic, I shouldn't be allowed to attack with Hexeblau while my opp has 1 Digimon with evo cards, use its [On Attack] to trash the evo cards, and then trigger Majiramon's [On Attack] inheritable successfully since the trigger timing has passed. But according to the rules, I am allowed to do so.

I keep telling everyone BWGX is going to be Tier 0 but nobody listens to me. Someone even said I don't understand the meta at all. Alright fine, but don't come crying to me when you can't play because a roided up BlackWagreymon keeps destroying your stuff!

It is FAR from Tier 0 man.. BWGX basically auto loses to any Green deck that suspends him.. it's literaly that simple

@@super3saiyan that's not really what matters because green is kept out of the meta by cross heart. Bwg won't be teir 0 because cross heart is still just as powerful. Currently those are the only 2 decks that have been able to top in set 11 though so very oppressive format for sure

Wrong? BWGX can redirect attacks even while suspended

@@super3saiyan BwargX can still redirect while suspended, though. And when ANYTHING unsuspends (this can include BwargX itself), it does a Dexmon-esque nuke on you.

@@Hyperneosonic97 it can, but anything that suspends it will probably have higher dp than BWGX so it's not worth redirecting, not assuming they're attacking it to get rid of it anyways. Also, BWGX does not unsuspend itself after it becomes suspended by green AND it's not a nuke, it deletes 1 of the lowest play costs, so it's easy to play around
