This is the stuff i used today... will dry overnight, heated garage. Do I need to sand before hitting it with Rustoleum semi-gloss black paint if all looks good ?? of can i just scuff with green scotch lightly ?

Hi! How did this cool etching primer work for you 2 months later? I'm using This type of Primer to spray some metal chain from #HomeDepot before hitting it with Black paint when I'm fabricating a Darth Vader Cape!

No you want to use self etching primer or epoxy primer then a filler primer

@@eduardochavez9601 I found SEM Self Etching Primer worked best for me. I tried the rustoleum Self Etching Primer on an aluminum motorcycle rim. When I went to remove the taped off section and the paint peeled right off. The surface was prepared properly, sanded and cleaned with acetone. I had to strip and start over. The SEM worked 100% better. More expensive but...

It is a light olive drab kinda green.

@@dontblameme6328, Maybe it has a hint of olive green but I perceive it as mostly gray. I had to go to the garage and spray some of it to make sure the computer wasn't playing tricks on me. Anyway, the actual color doesn't really matter since primers are painted over.

@@MucaroBoricua Some people have a problem with green & grey shades, it's not color blindness but this is a known issue, you have it.
