Where did you find that tensioner? What was the cost?

Absolutely love this build. Classic looks and modern mechanicals. Great job!

What tensioner did you use on the ALH and how did it attach to the engine? I'm swapping an ALH into a 54 truck on a stretched TJ frame and this is an issue I need to address.
@Rustomod9 ай бұрын
It’s a pretty common gm tensioner used on a 2012 canyon and other gm trucks we made a aluminum plate to mount it were thinking of developing a kit for this
@timgroves58109 ай бұрын
If you’re making a kit, maybe do the engine mount as well. That was pretty nice looking. Not a lot of great options out here besides diy weld plates kits.

What belt tensioner did you use? Curious for my own swap, I was just going to make a slider with an idler pulley but I'd much rather have a real tensioner.

What was the thought process in choosing the VW TDI over say a simple and reliable GM 4.3 V-6.

The tdi swaps in the jeeps are pretty common also we wanted the diesel mpg

@Rustomod I was curious to know if that Electric AC system has continued to have issues or if you have looked into a higher amp alternator to resolve the issues and then also did that system include some type of defrost? I’m looking at options for installing AC and heat in a 1964 C10 and while Vintage Air has an OEM type fit I like the appeal of a sub 600 dollar system and some diy ingenuity to possibly use the system you used. Thanks for any feedback!
@Rustomod6 ай бұрын
Once we got rid of the electric power steering it didn’t have any issues. And yes the it has heat also so defrost will work
@CraftwerksMC6 ай бұрын
@@Rustomod So it has a diverter for directing the air flow to the defrost to the top of the dashor something similar or does it just blow out of the unit through all the vents?

Just found you/this site. My Dad had a '53 wagon like yours, learned to drive it around. Replaced original engine with a long block when it died. NICE dash panel, where from? THANKS 👍

Only reason I'm here because I like 4x4, I really like old 4x4 and really like old Jeep 4x4. So I just wanted to see how this upgrade went and see how electric ac works, which makes me wonder why cars never put electric ac in cars. To me electric ac seems like better cheaper option, so now all it this Willys needs is power windows and parked in my garage............
@Rustomod6 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s pretty easy a lot of new cars have electric ac now

Its a real shame on such a nice build to go with such a poor motor.
