The mini washing machine is pretty great :) Although, I hope it evolves into an ultrasonic cleaner someday.

Прям один в один мои тиски, тоже ждут реставрацию. Интересно откуда такие тиски, какого завода и модель.

I cannot find the specific manufacturer, but I did find some technical specifications for this particular vise. It is the Тиски общего назначения 7827-0328 ГОСТ 4045. Here is a link to some technical drawings if you're interested! enex.market/library/gost/osnastka_i_prisposobleniya_gost/tiski_gost/tiski_slesarnye_s_ruchnym_privodom_gost_4045/tiski_obshchego_naznacheniya_7827_0328_gost_4045/

Why is your working vise not secured?
@ArcheonRestoration
@ArcheonRestoration 18 күн бұрын
I don't actually have a real workbench to do my projects on unfortunately :( So, I've taken a piece of plywood that I bolted the vise to. This allows me to keep the vise portable for filming. And I then clamp that plywood to the table with some small clamps. It holds okay, but I'd certainly like to build a proper workbench that I can bolt the vise directly to soon!

I consider that the work was not the best. There was no effort to remove the play that exists between the two main pieces. The clamps were just as rusty and there was no effort to square them so that they would fit as well as possible. Now, before giving the machine tools the final paint, one or two coats of PRIMMER must be applied and then the final color in HAMMER paint, which was created for that purpose. Inefficient work.

Hey! I appreciate your feedback and comments, I am trying to do better with each new video and am learning lots with each project. The community feedback like your comment helps me to improve by drawing attention to things I can do better going forwards, or issues I hadn't even considered. The play between the two pieces was actually solved although not very visibly in the video, the two bolts on the bottom of the vise were too loose when I first got the tool and tighting them solved that issue. As for the jaws of the vise, I cleaned them with the wire wheel, but you are correct I didn't do anything to square them. My only available option would have been my angle grinder. Although, I believe grinding away at them would likely have made things worse if I attempted to square them by hand in this manner. As I collect more tools and machines, squaring things will become considerably more feasible. As for painting you are probably correct, this was my first time painting metal and the store clerk I chatted with recommended this single coat paint for metal. It very well may not be the ideal solution and I'll make sure to look into multiple coat solutions in the future as I want to create the best restorations as I can. Thank you again for your feedback!

Not so much, it should be cleaned with an iron brush, straightened with a grinder, and painted with balloon paint. You chased me and drank blood for five hours
