Hey Rusty. I bought a Casita Independence about the same time you bought your Casita in 2019. I still have mine, and go solo year around. You popped up on my KZbin feed about the time we got the Casitas, and I have been following you ever since. I was afraid you were about to settle in to a sedentary life in your tiny home, which, by the way, is really nice, but I have been kept on edge by your "fickleness", and hope you continue for many years to keep your subscribers entertained and informed. I will be 69 in September, and am living the life, and you are an inspiration for me to say "To Hell with the naysayers", and do my own thing. Thanks, and stay fickle!😁

My mother always said I was born under a wandering star as I never like to be in any one place for a long time, it may be why I like this channel and rv’ing as it’s something new on a regular basis. Rusty lives on his terms and is always in a positive mood with a smile on his face and a kind word to say. We don’t encounter many like him these days so just enjoy the content, we aren’t paying for any of it. Just wish him great health to enjoy it all.

During April I rented a brand new Class C RV and drove it from Indiana to Utah in a 10 day period. A very basic rig as you are describing. I feel the Class C with a bed in the back is a very functional floor plan. The more basic, the better. I used about $80.00 a day on fuel, It had 17 miles on it when I picked it up and 1732 miles when I dropped it in Salt Lake City. By the way fuel in Hawaii is at $4.50 a gallon these days.

I like the Class C but the 30 ft one I wanted has too much overhang on the rear to go up my driveway. The Rv trailer I’m getting is supposed to have the thickest insulation. We are in the desert a lot and the weather can get like Texas.

Tiny home community living may not be for you personally, but many residents stay for years and enjoy a the camaraderie. Now instead of spending $65K+ on a new class C, that you might leave parked for months at a time, only to get infested with vermin; what about a simpler, much less expensive alternative, like the Clipper travel trailer you used to have? Light weight, really functional, easy to haul around with the Van you have or don't, just leave it parked there like you were going to do with the expensive class C? Maybe get a cover like you had on the TX and Capitan, NM property? You have time to change your mind. See what they have that is less expensive and used; something that comes with a warranty. I can't wait to see what you decide to do Rusty! 😉 after all, you do you and I do me! Hahaha! I'm sure whatever you choose will be the right choice, for now.
