Did anyone else think that Augustus chose this case just so he could say “help need out need out”? I have a feeling he was trying to use it to communicate that he wants out of the computer. Also this is the second statement from Augustus about loneliness and the second statement where we have someone asking for something. In the first case, it was the musician asking his nephew to feed the violin and here it’s the other being in the patient’s brain wanting out of his brain.

Lena, I understand your frustration, and I’m glad you would at least consider Gwen’s death inconvenient, but as I’ve said in previous episodes, why did you not train her at all before thrusting her directly into the path of danger, if you weren’t trying to get her killed?! Were you just hoping to scare her off of the position? Because, if so, well played, you certainly got what you wanted! 😅 3. Ministerial visit coming up?! Do we get to find out who’s in charge here?! Do we get to meet the guy Colin hates who asked Colin to make a FR3-D1 app?!!!! 😃 4. _“Mrs._ Kelly”?! Lena’s married?!!! I did not call that at all! 5. Another _banger_ statement read by Augustus!!! Holy _shit_ that was chilling! Tim Fearon, your voice work is impeccable as always, good sir!!!! 6. Sam calling Alice out on messing with his computer! Damn, either Alice is super sloppy in her subterfuge, or Sam is very observant. Or it could be both, I suppose. Alice is apparently “crap at lying” so it’s probably both. 😅 7. Sam asking Alice why she’s still working at the OIAR is giving big “Jon asking Martin why he was still working at the Archives during the worm siege” vibes. Alice’s reasoning seemed logical, but I think even more than before that she knows more than she lets on. 8. While I do think that Alice is genuinely trying to keep Sam at least somewhat safe, I also understand Sam’s frustration with her; especially since she _did_ recommend this job to him, even though she knows it can destroy people. And, Sam had just lost his job due to some kind of breakdown (which I hope we’ll get details about at some point) so he probably wasn’t in the best mental state for this job in the first place! It’s just a rough situation all around, especially since Alice was possibly hoping to get back together with Sam, before Celia showed up. ☹️ 9. And finally…. CELIA, WTF?! Another week, another Protocol episode to dissect! Gwen's not dead or infected with a spooky tattoo but Lena's finally had enough, which makes me wonder if she's found a way to deal with the blackmail Gwen first used against her. Also ERROR being called the "watching figure" just further cements my belief that it's Jon in some capacity. As for the Case itself, I'm actually a bit stuck on what Fear this is. Maybe a very weird aspect of Flesh based on the connection between the spiritual sense of self and the bloody, visceral form of the physical body? Could be The Stranger as well since it likes to mess with people's sense of self and identity. The post-Case talks got a little heated this time, kinda odd that Sam is mocking Alice when just a few episodes ago he was saying the computers were listening to them but he's probably just caught up in his feelings and calling Alice out for doing the same thing she was previously judging him for doing. Also I find it hilarious that Freddy pings Sam's "I can take care of myself" line as a lie. Either Freddy doesn't believe Sam or he's lying to himself. And OMG Celia you can't just name drop Jonathan Sims the Archivist and Martin King Blackwood! I wonder if she only knows them from the old world or if this world's versions of them actually worked for the Institute. Have to wait and see!

I’m with Sam on this one. if someone tried to hide evidence confirming my theory on something I’d made very clear I was invested in-that’s friendship-ending stuff, imo. Alice was way out of order. Some seriously manipulative behavior. Sam’s not a child in need of her protection, and going behind his back was messed up. I believe she did it out of love, but caring about someone doesn’t give you permission to take their chances to make their own choices away. That being said, I don’t think she was motivated by romantic jealousy so much as just being generally controlling, something she’s apparently made a habit of. But she did kind of reveal that she’d been hoping they could maybe get back together at the worst possible time, so I can see why Sam’s mind went there.

So someone took these fibers that house the inner self or soul and took Jon and Martin and old man mystery , and used them as the groundwork for the software the OIAR uses.
