That's exactly what my new glow plug did. Lit up just like that one but take glow starter off and it's shuts off. Sometimes it idles 2 or 3 secs after glow starter off and then shuts off.

You have the wrong plug... you need a standard short plug... that's a long plug... the plug when installed should NOT protrude into the combustion chamber...

I was going to say this, but noticed someone else did!

If you hot that copper washer up drop it in water, it will soften it again allowing it to make a better seal, or let it cool slowly naturally.
@kelvinhopes8410 Жыл бұрын
Annealing is the process. Although with copper you need to quench in cold water when it's hot. Steel hardens when dropped into water and remains soft if air cooled. Copper works the opposite way so when air cooled it HARDENS and when quenched it will stay soft, which is what you want for its sealing properties. Although with copper washers this small probably doesn't matter :) I do this for nearly every oil sump plug that the customer can't be bothered to pay a quid or 2 to replace 🤣🤣🤣

That washer wasn’t worth a wank lol

Just burnt up my clutch bell bearings trying to get through the third tank and notice the bearings are now just washers. Metal shavings everywhere lol

That’s Alright I ran for years without any bearings at all

@@HaggardRC how you do that I thought you need bearings to take the slop out of CB
@HaggardRC Жыл бұрын
You do, it was flapping around like crazy but still worked alright lol.

@@HaggardRC did you make the hole bigger on CB since no bearings? Pretty much had to throw it away after huh

I think you forgot to re-install the copper head shim as well.

Judging from those symptoms it needs a new piston and liner 😮
@bergan1227 Жыл бұрын
New sleeve and piston needed maybe
@kelvinhopes8410 Жыл бұрын
Had the same issue with my MT2 that I keep mentioning lol. Just repinched the sleeve as there was practically no pinch left (quarter of the piston could make its way out the top of the sleeve). It still ran like this but wouldn't idle properly when hot or tune properly :) Same engine as this - the original t-15. What's your thoughts on these engines, worth an upgrade? Keep eyeing up the HPI G3.0 to chuck in the old thing haha
@kelvinhopes8410 Жыл бұрын
Also good to see someone that's "old school".... unless it's really critical (car engine head bolts, cam caps, big end bearings etc) I don't use a torque wrench at all... Common sense, loctite when needed and do things up properly... never had a problem 👌
@HaggardRC Жыл бұрын
That’s right I don’t torque up anything apart from head bolts and bearing caps. My hands know when they’re tight enough lol

I replaced my firestorms G3.0 engine with a new force 18 and put the old G3.0 into a rush rolling chassis. Took a bit of work to do it but it's in. For some reason though it never ran right and I got loads of pressure and bubbles in the fuel tank. It spits fuel out of the filler cap every time it's opened lol.
@HaggardRC Жыл бұрын
That’s good the more pressure the better
@carpertony5123 Жыл бұрын
@@HaggardRC decent pressure is a good thing I know but that thing was like a volcanic eruption every time the tank was opened . For some reason I just couldn't get the needles set right. It never ran like it did in the firestorm. Might have to dig it out and play with it again and figure it out bro.
