LRP ZR-32 Nitro Engine Lost Compression What Happened?

I have an Axial 28 with a hair line crack in the block ,the crack is just under the mount tab , an the engine drove me nuts on the tuning ,1 min. it would run fine ,the next min it wouldnt hit a lick until finally I pulled it out an was cranking on it in my hand an seen little tiny bubbles coming from the crack! Your engine still has some good pop ,so I would check for cracks after that hard blow to the head!..🤔👍

the head was leaking air lost the seal it also could of been through glow plug threads. if i remember right you said you seen fuel at top or the one way wasnt grab and felt like it lost. those are my guess. the fuel ratio changes as it gets old chemical change over time. good stuff till the next one

Yes, old fuel DOES get crappy over time. I had a half gallon of 2.5 year old fuel, and my .21 engine would just suddenly pop loudly when in the upper RPMs and would quit. Almost like a backfire out of the exhaust... I bought some new fuel, and almost was well again.

Not me... I had a half a gallon that was 2.5 years old. Stored in a cool basement in a dark cabinet. When I used that fuel, my .21 would make a loud pop, and instantly quit in the upper RPMs. Did it every time it would start to rev up and get some speed. I got some new fuel, and the issue was gone. Nothing else was changed except for the fuel.

It happened to me as well before after a crash you hydro locked it for a second this from the bubbling by the glow plug.

A leaking glow plug would NOT hydrolock an engine....

Was the engine hot? They all tend to lose some compression when they get pretty warm, and then it returns later when it cools off.

Can you please please do a rebuild or part rebuild of ftx carnage force 18. It says in Manuel there's two rings below the button... I only found 1😢 I still have compression And a leak of nitro fuel. Also can you tell me what other nitro engines I could upgrade it too if worst comes👍. Oh great vid mr rusty

Where did you get the heat wrap round the inlet fuel pipe haggard plz? My pull start melting on buggy after adding tuned pipe and manifold... that ol classic, want to cover the pullstart as its a kyosho that i cant seem to buy anywhere

It came with that truck when I bought it, it was in a load of nuts and bolts that was in a box with it… I’ve never seen it for sale to be fair lol. I’m sure someone must sell it but the stuff I have here is over 20 years old 🤷🏻‍♂️

That could be many problems, from a worn out engine to a simple carb issue.

If it's too rich, it will flood the one way bearing with oil/fuel and make it slip.

Yo bud im a 1/5th petrol head have been for 30 years odd (proper rc cars) but just have bought a new nitro car can i run it on methonol not nitro fuel ?

No because that lacks the oil I would think, nitro fuel has oil in it (obviously) if you run it on straight methanol it won’t last very long lol.

You CAN run it on 0% nitro airplane fuel. But NOT straight methanol with no lube in it.
