I bought a President Lincoln 1 about 30 years ago from a truck driving friend of mine. I stopped using it years ago and I wrapped in up and stored it in my garage. It is still there. I need to pull it out and make sure it still works. That radio had a lot of power.

The Lincoln 1 is one of the best 10m/11m multimode radios ever built. The new chinese junk will never beat a Lincoln 1. The L1 has not the best FM RX, but on SSB it is a great radio. Have 4 of them I my collection and everyone has a alignment. Spot on frequency and absolutely clean receiver.

HI, you're right , I have never found a better radio for this price. I have bought many radios like ICOM, YAESU or KENWWOD that were very good but for CB Lincoln 1 is really fine. The only problem is RX in AM too mute

If I had to choose between the two it would be the Lincoln hands down.old school every time.and I have owned both. but that's my personal preference.

hey! i have had a "president lincoln mark 1" for decades, in this radio you have to select different bands separately from the band button. i don't know what year it was made, but it's a great radio and i can't change it to anything else. i love this radio because it's as simple and easy to use as possible.

Lol I knew what you was going to say about it. I've sold all my radio set up now, as hardly used it and now more into my Photography. I still have my baofeng uv-5r and a Retevis PMR.

What lyndon says Ben. Those Lincoln 1s are good radios. I had a 2 but I sold it and bought a Jackson 1 apprantly a very sought after radio now. Can't beat the older rigs Ben

If’s that’s the only thing that does your head in. And yea you know good rig doctors, because I’ve heard you talk about them before, it’s a 2 or 3 hours to fix it to how you like it, but I know this is about a 1 year ago now, and I think you have just the one rig out which is the one you are morning about, we’ll just thought I would throw that out there rusty,anyway hope that your camper van is been done or in the process of getting on the road, thanks for letting me rant on but it’s not that hard, take care mate AkA Night owl from Luton 🍻💯👍

So it comes down to the' President has a fine tune clarifier, we're as the DX5000 has a step style clarifier = fail. So better to stick with, President, Icom, Yaesu. Enjoyed that, if enough people share the gripe that your having with that set, then just maybe they'll listen and bring out a better edition. (we can only live & hope) 👍🏻

Posiadam Mckinley'a. Jestem bardzo zadowolony. Można go stroić do 100hz jak starego Lincolna przesuwając kursor pod częstotliwością. Pokrętło clarifier załatwia resztę. Posiadałem HR i stwierdzam , że dla mnie McKinley pracuje lepiej. Pozdrawiam.

Put some silicone on the kpo clarifier ,when it goes off you can turn the whole radio with clarifier knob !

I guess because the clarifier is used for menus too, it needs to be a rotary encoder.

Hope they rectify the clarifier some time. I have an issue with the 6900 and the awful mike. Spoils it for me. Put a KPO532 power mike on it. Problem solved. Not so lucky with the clarifier.

Move the digit cursor to the last one, and use the mic +/- buttons. I would just let people sound like helium donald duck or s.hexane donald duck on any radio. Crossing static blast FM, to cue am or ssb's, ooh that is the tech bait feature.

Myself never like Double Clarifier of fine also coarse because lots people get both it get tune because drift up and down frequency especially Galaxy certain radios or others to ! I had President HR 2510 years back and open Clarifier work super with Chipswitch for 10, 11, 12 bands 24.800 to 29.999 plus high output set up too put finals in too looks like the Lincoln! But I like Noise Blanker filter switch to it takes lots noise from anything it hard hear someone in distance aways! Also never tried Connnex brand radio before have lots other brands

I love the President Lincoln MK1 i personally rate it far better than MK2 & MK3 although it comes down to your own personal prefrences wgen it comes to these rigs. But, trying to get hold of another since my last one was STOLEN!!! when i was out at work one day. & i sadly never got JUSTICE on the SCUMBAG!!! that did it. ( can't go into the explanation take to much to do & i can't, remember all the details anyway). So, i have alwzys wanted to get another but, sadly the prices of these sets are not as cheap as i thought. £200+ secondhand not including the cost of going to get the thing average costing £80+ on top. Sadly i don't have £300 for another & then cost of a 10amp + power Unit & maybe a decent ATU or SWR meter etc etc, etc. This would prob cost me around £450 to £500+ So a brand new one if a available 🤔🙄 I would expect to pay around £800+ all in. I can't find one less than 250 miles away if i am very lucky. Most are much, much further if at all. So, maybe i might find one one day 😕😟

The McKinley would really drive you mad Ben, it takes 3 buttons to increase power or RF, if you haven’t done for a while you have to look for instructions , also with ABCDEF you have to change manually , nice front speaker but everything is menu driven , sold it the other day , good riddance 👍🏽
