Waterfowl Dance is highly effective against human-sized and low poise enemies and or bosses, as it will stunlock them. The last strike will mostly make them fall, giving you the time to regenerate your stamina and repeat. On the other hand, DON’T use this against big and high poise enemies as the duration of this attack is pretty long and you’ll most likely get backhanded out of the attack. I’m still practicing my English, so please tell me if I made an error.

Cipher Pata does NOT have the same skill as Coded Sword even though it does have the same skill name "Unblockable Blade". It has a lunging short range strike that is completely different. I would love tips for it! My tip: the lunge can be spammed after you run out of fp, it will just lose some damage. I think it remains unblockable when out of fp but did not test this.

If you want an actual deepdive into every single unique skill, then look somewhere else or just play the fucking game. And also it‘s not like OP‘s „tips“ can even be considered tips, especially for corpse piler, which creates a nice bit of hypocrisy on your end (no offense to OP by the way). And also also, KZbin is his livelihood, his job, and part of said job is to create videos which get picked op by the algorithm and therefore get a lot of views. The best way to guarantee that is to a. make a video about a popular topic, b. make it as short as possible and c. create a fitting, catchy, yet somewhat clickbaity title. An honest title like „1 quick tip for every unique skill except like two or three because you don‘t need a tip for them“ isn‘t one that I would consider being especially catchy. If that we’re the title, I wouldn‘t have watched the video and neither would you. With Dynast’s Finnese, using it unlocked allows you to do the initial dodge, which has s, in any direction, so you have a lot of versatility in how you can set up the follow-up attacks instead of just being limited to stepping back.

Another tip for Waterfowl, the final hit will knock enemies and bosses like Malenia on their ass. I did a character build using only Malenia's armor and weapon for the sole purpose of facing her in NG+ as herself and kicking her ass. If you're able to, landing the final hit with Waterfowl will knock her down, on top of all the stagger the other hits cause. Slicing her to ribbons with her own busted ass attack was VERY cathartic.

RoB tip: If you block the first two slashes of the WA, you can setup parry the third quite easily, and most RoB users will react to shields as bulls to a red napkin.

The biggest mistake people make with Ghiza's Wheel is expecting it to be a Bleed weapon like Rivers or something. It's not a really a Bleed heavy weapon, it's a quality weapon with a Bleed effect. Build around it to its actual strengths and it's fantastic to use.

Rusty didn't give any tips for RoB or Moonveil, so I'mma do a service and give a tip... for how to counter them. Corpse Piler: Your best bet if you're a melee build is to I-frame through the skill and wait for an opening. Because of this you'll want to load up on Robustness and Poise. Even if you I frame through an attack you'll still get the status build up from it so you need bleed resist even if you're not getting hit. Poise for the times you do get hit because if you get staggered by Rob's skill you probably won't survive the stunlock especially if they made their build with solely RoB in mind. Transient Moonlight: Dodge through it. Yep. It's honestly that simple. if you dodge forward their open to a poke from a roll attack. Do keep in mind the weapons range and how well it's roll attack tracks locked on targets since it'll affect how far you should be when you roll at them to get the best results.

Additionally, if you hit them with the heavy/heavy-jump attack and then follow up with the skill, chances are you will kill a player with a two hit combo if they don't retaliate quick enough. Now, why is this absolutely fair and balanced compared to the likes of something like Rivers of Blood(I'm not sorry, every single Rivers of Blood user can go die in a ditch)? Because Bolt of Gransax has fuck all poise with its skill and still has a slow use/charge animation, and players can dodge the the skill if they see it coming from a mile away... which is why you should only use it if you get the drop on your enemy or if they expect you to do another attack. Also, the Bolt of Gransax's skill also keeps you safe from most ground/low attacks, such as the crucible tail whip or Godfrey's shockwaves, meaning you can counter Godfrey's stupid AoE spam with Bolt of Gransax rather than just jumping for you life the whole time, just make sure to use it as soon as Godfrey raises his foot into the air, or in the case of the super long winded stomps, do it halfway through his attack, just make sure to avoid the one AoE attack where he splits the ground and magma shows up, because that attack's hit box is too large for the Bolt of Gransax skill.

You can combine the jellyfish shield and the ornamental straight swords in a fun way. Start out "two handing" (dual wielding) the swords and use its skill to buff them. Then pull out the jellyfish shield an duse its skill as well. Your strong attacks will still be the special rapid attack using both swords, but it counts as having the shield still equipped so you don't lose the buff

Last Rites (Golden Epitaph) doesn't require the buff to perma kill skellies (At least maybe not anymore, not sure about previous patches). Just killing with that sword is enough. The skill buffs your damage, and nearby members, so if you have a friend running blood, they'll also start perma-killing skellies (but unlike you, they DO need that buff)

I've got one for the magma wyrm's sword: that trip followup attack is great and having an enemy slowly getting up in a pool of magma shouldn't be underrestimated. Makes the duelists easy to deal with because they get the stumblies.

Rivers of Blood: its flame affinity can work well when powerstanced with another weapon with the Cold affinity for Frostbite, which is what Let Me Solo Her used featuring Rivers of Blood + Cold Uchigatana. Moonveil: especially true for those with low FP, this is best used as a punishing attack and not something to spam. Keep the pressure on to build up poise damage, and when you see an opening, use Transient Moonlight.

use unsheathe as a reliable and quicker (when prepared) heavy attack to stance break in 2-3 hits, quick as a regular heavy but hits like a charged heavy. R2 is also good for catching jumping invaders mid-air and low flying enemies.

13:35 Unblockable blade has good free aiming during the cast and decent radius. Its effect is probably a 160-170 degree arc, but if you include rotation during the cast, it feels like you can hit anything within 270-290 degree arc from the moment you cast it. It's a pretty good follow up after dodging, but you can't hit something directly behind you when you cast it. Its stagger is meh, but it can stance break medium enemies like those storm knights and cleanrot knights reliably on the third cast after stun locking every single one of them in front of you constantly. For smaller enemies, it's an aoe farm or an aoe backstab farm Also, it hits through walls. Also, holy damage makes it very good. Also, use it on Deathbirds. Accept no substitute.1500 damage on their dumb head per cast is too good not to use when you can spam this shit. Unblockable Strike, the version on the Cipher Pata, also had good range and has better stagger but due to its thrust instead of sweep, I find it much less useful. Enemies rarely line up in front of you as opposed to around you.

Another thing about Spinny Steppy Anime Slash is that it has hyperarmor during the initial windup, some I-frames (because I have been in AoEs using this that should have dealt damage but didn't), leap and crouch evasions, and stun lock on small and medium enemies with high HP.

Trolls roar has incredibly high poise damage and can easily break the stances of many bosses, from early game to late game. While slow on the start up and the recovery, it has a huge hitbox that can decimate small enemies to give yourself some breathing room. Oh, it also goes through walls.

Quick note, Godfrey icon does not buff DMGS charged R2. It's an attack, not a skill, the skill is the buff that you apply.

This is just incorrect. While it's true that the charged R2 while buffed is an attack, the wave of moonlight is still buffed by Godfrey icon.

02:37 Death Flare (Eclipse Shotel) For anyone serious about trying this in PvE either because you're bored or want to be spiteful. The ash of war actually has some surprisingly good damage on the explosion, even to enemies with high holy res and can stagger just about any medium sized enemy or smaller enemy and the width (not range) is wider than you think it might be, not to mention it has pretty good poise damage too. The buff on the first part is also surprisingly fast to cast and can even be roll canceled out of or you can either immediate follow up or delay the follow up explosion by a pretty good window. (Overall, not a bad holy weapon for PvE. Legendary? Debatable. Good? IMO, yes.) Edit: This was made for patch 1.09, but i used the weapon a lot in 1.08 and still had the same results, the only major change was some scaling tuning and some minor attack speed buffs.

Rivers of Blood tip: use swarm of flies, corpse piller, and mohgs blood ritual consistently with mimic or alecto and Malenia becomes your bitch, but timing is key, so don't just go into the fight with all three of these things thinking its gonna be a breeze.

12:11 that one godskin talisman is also useful. A nice combination with ash of wars like waterfoul dance, so that way, you can truly become Malenia, blade of Miquella. Edit: should probably have just watched more of the video, but… idc. A Malenia build could be fun to do sometime.
