I love it when two people sing a duet, and the camera shows only one of the people. That's such an intelligent thing to do.

So good to see them recalling their younger days. This is what I was hoping to see. I just loved their wonderful songs and their voices. A huge kudos to Sylvia for not listening to her mother. Her mother might have been trying to hide Sylvia's talent and of course I just am mesmerized by their beautiful duet.

This is the stuff of life....have experienced things like this myself. When people write things like they prefer to remember their lives or our own, as something different...what can I say? They are doing something else besides nodding to the past and then passing on....

Back in 60's, I really enjoyed their folk music by Ian and Sylvia. They do good on both folk and country music.

Yes, thanks -- to Anne's comment below -- it is good for me to see some comfort and affection between them. Things seemed pretty strained in their 1986 reunion.... It's funny how we root for our early favorites to find some peace along the way. I saw Ian and Sylvia at Smith College in the late 60s (as a guest date from a NY state school -- I seem to feel the need to add).... Ian seems more appealing as a person in these later video pieces on him. More humor and humility. He was hard to like in the '86 reunion video.... I didn't know about his Greek love back in British Columbia, who originally inspired "Four Strong Winds." I wonder how that history felt for Ian and Sylvia all the thousands of times they sang the song. And then the song rang true for the two of them as well....// Happy trails and blessings to us all. Life is not so easy....

i always loved their singing and I remain a fan. Very talented and creative people. But Ian was a mean, paranoid confrontative drunk when I saw them perform in 1970 in Boston. Very uncomfortable to listen to. I''m glad to see that he has mellowed with the years.

Big fan of I&S; but perhaps, historically speaking, Sylvia should have heeded the words of this song! ("I thought you were pregnant" as his recollection of why they married!?). They were 2 stunningly beautiful young people. Youth be not proud, for you fade too fast!

I found his “recollection” to be very odd. Could he have been thinking about his marriage to his second wife?

@@karenknapp8891 it is possible he was referencing both in terms of his two failed marriages. I know his second divorce ended acrimoniously, and I even heard his daughter, who apparently is married and lives somewhere in Texas, quit talking to him at one point. However, the statement about “I thought you were pregnant” was directed at Sylvia. How insulting, to imply that he married her only because she was pregnant! I really thought he had an incredibly beautiful voice, and their voices sounded so good together. I hope he is resting in peace. And I hope that Sylvia is aging as well as we can all hope to age. She was definitely one of my favorite female vocalist at the time, and, when I was younger, I was a singer and covered many of her songs.
