I used to visit with her at her "pickle factory" location and she was so very gracious. I often asked other potter friends, when you come to Chicago for a show do you visit with Ruth Duckworth. Many said they were afraid to take her time. Now they may wish they had, it was generously given.

Loved when she said, "If you're still fearful when your in your 80's, that's bad luck."

I went to her retrospective show three times. Seeing her work went off inside of me like a bomb. Her work is sublime. To me the quintessential post war modernist. Crazy brilliant. I wish I'd met Ruth. This video helps so much.

I miss Ruth. Never met her but was inspired by her story and her work. Truly sad she's not with us anymore.
