She came back in 2003 and told Tony that she was pregnant but lost their baby, then left in 2004. Then she came back in 2008 for Jack's "funeral" (faked his death for life insurance)

@@danielr02 I think Ruth should come back. I like how in recent years they brought back Mandy and her ex - boyfriend Luke, as well as his sister Zara, so I think it would be good to see Ruth back too, although Mandy and her step - sister and best friend Cindy wouldn't be happy to see Ruth because Mandy blamed Ruth for the death of her brother Lewis and for the fact that Tony cheated of her with Ruth, which Mandy's other best friend Becca (Nancy's sister) witnessed. In addition Ruth hated Cindy's whole family because Cindy's older sister Dawn had an affair with her father Jack, but I think it would add some much-needed nostalgia to Hollyoaks if Ruth returned. Mandy and Cindy could have a massive fight with Ruth in the middle of the village and Ruth's brother Darren could try and tear Ruth away from Mandy and Cindy. The actor who played Sol wanted to return the same year Mandy and Luke did but the producers had no plans for Sol to return.

- Kurt was grieving over Ollie. He was chasing Ollie in the car when they both crashed and he blamed himself for Ollie's death. That's why he didn't like the car. - Simon was a journalist that Ruth worked with. He was only a guest character though. - Kurt had an affair with Ruth's step-sister Kate and Ruth found this out on Xmas 1998. he left in January 1999 and Lucy learned in June that he had died in a jet ski accident. - Ruth left in 2001 when Mandy's brother tried to force himself on her, then took his own life.
