This is one of the more realistic gun fights I've ever seen. No dramatic close ups of them spending 50 thousand rounds without reloading, no cheesy explosions they miraculously walk away from, and each of their wounds nearly ends the battle. Unlike most action movies where the main character gets shot then continues Kung fu fighting and doing complex actions like driving. I miss Coen Brother westerns.

@@Goofiest_Goof It's very smart, Anton would have to make the assumption that at night he could be in the shower. He might wait in the corner on a couch, like he did to the women at the end. Or blast his way through into the bathroom and kill the showering victim. Either way, Anton would have no reason to suspect this play. Since the "good guy" had known Anton was coming, he also could've just not been in his room and waiting outside or even take a fire escape to the roof. The Vet was simply to paranoid to think of another strategy as he had no clue how far behind Anton was. So he made a bet on the shotgun/ambush play. It didn't work out well.

@DoktorSammich Жыл бұрын
I think it served two purposes, let me explain: first is that incapacitating the driver puts moss in a bad spot because he can either try driving from the passengers side, making him a sitting duck, or get out of the vehicle, giving Anton time to close the distance and secure his mark. Secondly, hitting moss first would have gotten the driver to react and probably haul ass; should he have been fortunate enough to escape, Anton would have had a body and at least a single witness to worry about. Edit: As @FabledGentleman said, the money could disappear with the driver too, which is Chigurh's goal at the end of the day.
@FabledGentleman Жыл бұрын
He is not after Moss, he is after the money. The money is in the car, so he has to kill the driver so the money isn't disappearing for good. The Bonus is that once the driver is dead at the wheel, it's very difficult to oust the driver and take over the vehicle while Anton is approaching.

What rules Anton used ?
@SkippyHunkleChuck11 ай бұрын
Idk, I feel like Llewelyn might stand a good chance against anton. We see anton here constantly trying to shoot Llewelyn but fails ultimately, and it took Llewelyn a few seconds to outsmart anton and actually get the jump on him.

Why didn't he just throw the tracker out..? That's the one thing about this movie I didn't get. And if he didn't know that it was in there, common sense would say to change the bags anyway.

Wow what a cool and interesting mid plot conflict. Sure hope there’s a satisfying ending to this story and not some pretentious bs.

It’s allegory. Cormac tends to rely heavily on allegorical writing, lots of Blood Meridian is like that, almost Biblical in its essence.

Anton will just keep after him; better to just try end it now especially when he had the advantage.

It's 1980 West Texas, remember no 911 system existed until the mid to late 80s, the sheriff probably had 1 or 2 officers on duty and probably far away. Not a bustling city yet so nightlife was quiet unless you went to Austin.
