Nah. The signs were there in her early days as Consort Xian. The emperor never cherished her to begin with , letting her unfairly be confined to cold palace for years , not trusting her by sending Suoxin to interrogation etc the emperor cared about his ego more than anything

I agree after everything that happened and that she had to go through, she deserved a happy ending with him and he should have always known never to trust any of the rumors or allegations against her as she was truly innocent. But even in real life things didn't end happily sadly.
