Ruyi delivering that blow to the princess was such a beautiful clapback scene. The princess is so arrogant and entitled so it was nice to see her be put into place but not my emotion but by tradition. Ruyi knew if she had been empress she would have to give up her daughter as well if she was in the same circumstance. I loved ruyi mouthing off to the empress. It was great

這對手戲真的精彩， 10:40 皇太后那瞬間秒變的冰冷眼神幾乎要殺人，而如懿則沉得住氣，穩穩應對眼前這座快要爆發的火山，兩者間對答的一來一往，眼神表情的變化，太細膩了。 嬛嬛當然是聰明的，只不過是如今邁入老年，心中親情更重了，事關兒女自然會稍微慌了方寸，所以才被如懿提醒了。這也是這部劇寫實的地方，很多時候，只有為人父母了才會改變心境。

16:28 Ruyi is so eloquent in her speech, but her eye contact KILLS. Her conscience is clean, but she knows what the Empress thinks of her and how she's calculated against her. She puts on a smile and honestly wishes for the best for the emperor, which so conveniently tears down the Empress and Princess and whoever is in Ruyi's way. They go mad with guilt and frustration knowing that Ruyi is right. Ruyi knew just what to say to get the Empress to stand up and declare so loudly that Ruyi ought to go and teach the Princess as the Emperor said to--not one word over or under.

@@lisathomas4916 she was so focused on preventing Ruyi and Consort Gao being mothers because they ranked right below her that she forgot that daughters of the family are often married off to Mongolia and other clans to secure and consolidate alliances. Ruyi and Gao both could’ve have daughters to be married off… and she thought the Dowager would willingly sacrifice her remaining daughter for the sake of more power.

Had the Empress or, Noble Consort Hui had half a brain and befriended Ruyi, they would have ruled and been happy and safe. Instead, they allowed petty beliefs, suspicions and their maids and eunuchs to insidiously feed them ideas which led to their ultimate downfall. The Dowager Empress finally realized how intelligent Ruyi really was.

Y la princesa también se alió con la Consorte Ling a causa de ese odio visceral que tenía por Ruyi. Debió ponerse de parte de la Emperatriz Fuca, así la princesa no la odiaría tanto. Se dejó llevar por sus impulsos y su odio, y solamente consiguió que la princesa le guardase rencor. Era mejor tener el rencor de la Emperatriz Viuda, pues de todas formas se hubiera aliado sí o sí con la Consorte Ling.
