I was so confused at this scene if Ruyi was the Emperor the servants would've dragged Yanwan out immediately and brought her to a secluded location so they could kill her but with Ruyi they just held her down and allowed Yanwan to continue disrespecting her. Idk if it was because Yanwan was being favored or they didn't want to feel the Emperor's wrath but at the end of it all Ruyi is the Empress and it is in her right to punish a disrespectful concubine even Jingse agreed to the punishment but changed her mind due to her being allies with Yanwan at the time.

Very true. Jingse allied herself to Yangwan, until Concubine Yi (I might butcher just part of the wording there) the one is caring and raising Yangwan first daughter as her own. When she spoke to Jingse at the few months prayer of Youngqi funeral prayers, she mention to the daughter in law of “if you can’t see the truth, then send a servant to hear what Yangwan is trying to do, to blind you of getting the throne.” Well, something to that idea.

我覺得不是要如懿狠辣，而是讓她動動腦子。 勸也要勸的巧，不然說多了也無用。 她大可以利用太后的態度讓皇上收斂，卻自己上敢去碰釘子，你說討不討厭。不懂得旁敲側擊、借力使力，而是仗著自己的權勢，當然做不穩高位。

@@s21021p 所以太后才說如懿不適合當皇后，成了名正言順的妻子後，如懿不再有前期當妾室的戰戰兢兢跟聰穎機伶，反而處處跟皇上正面硬剛，雖然說到底都是皇上錯在先，但稍微有點耐性的話也不至於被魏嬿婉吃死死的... 不過這部劇終究最後要收束成與史實相符，才會把如懿刻畫成這樣，最後也才會像史實一般的另皇上厭惡

It's not in Ruyi's nature to be that way besides the Emperor would had argued with her over it since at that moment he was favoring Yanwan. You're right she should had sent Yanwan to Empress Dowager at least the Emperor wouldn't go against his mother and she would defend Ruyi if the Emperor tried to punish her.
