This is one episode that really tugged at my heart strings. My grandmother on my father's side was in an abusive marriage. He abused her and my dad and his siblings not just physically but emotionally. He even stoped his dad after he pushed her against the wall and was about to punch her when my dad punched him and knocked him to the floor. My grandfather left the family not long afterwards and that was when my dad became the heart of the family. My dad was a true hero. I just wish I had known about this when he was alive so I could tell him that

Your grandfather sounds like an asshole. Don't sound like your dad took after him. Pretty sure your father enjoyed seeing his grandfather beat up his abusive father.

It was bad enough that he broke his daughter's arm, but killing her? I wanted to jump through that screen and kill him myself. Too bad Art didn't finish him off after beating him up in the car park. "We did it off the books" (Art's explanation for how wife-beaters were dealt with in the 60s). Well, if you wanted a scumbag taken down, you did it yourself.

If you watch the part where they are talking to him they say something about "you knew his beat" and he says something I can't remember it but confess to the murder. And Jeffries tells Vera he doesn't need to write that last part down, the confession, and Vera says I don't even remember what the man said.
