+Keep Your Daydream Glad you loved Acadia. It (and the region) is one of the most beautiful land/seascapes in the world, IMO. And with nearby postcard-perfect coastal towns like Camden, Bar Harbor, etc., it's just soooooo stunning. I'm getting a travel trailer for work (officially), but I plan to take it to a LOT of scenic places for some R&R, throughout the US.

On my days off I try to catch up on all my YT sub's so that will explain why my comments are all over the place. This particular one was published on my birthday. Awesome! Anyway, I think that these videos are great and I feel that this is the best way to raise your children. To explore this great country and actually live it is so much better than what is in the school books. There will be so many people jealous of you when you can say that "Oh, I have been there" instead of reading about. I, too, was raised this way ( not to this extent) and I loved traveling and still do it today with my transporter business. Although, now I have to do it mostly by myself as my wife works at ASU and has a hard time getting off from work. We just did Niagara Falls and Montreal in Oct. 2016. Too bad you aren't retired military because then you could stay at the base campgrounds for a little less than the public ones. The fuel mileage seems a tad low, you must have the V8 version and not the V6 turbo that everyone brags about having such high fuel mileage. It is rare when my truck (Duramax diesel) dips into the 9's - usually very windy days or every time that I drive up north in the winter as the fuel is not the same as summer fuel.

Acadia is a beautiful park, Maine is a beautiful state. I have been through the park and beaches with my kids. The last trip with all 3 kids was there, my youngest and I went back 2 years ago and went to some of the same beaches for pictures. I don't instagram or anything but a picture of my youngest on the shore has a few hundred thousand hits on google. It is so much like Wisconsin I think. You are very smart to get all of this on video, once they get to be surly teenagers they tend to forget many childhood things, it is a normal changing of the brain.

Caleb goest to K12. The older two go to a charter school online from 'home'. Trish is going to take over the the boys curriculum next year and focus hard on reading and math and let our travel being the impetuous for other curriculum. Once we got a closer look at the daily curriculum of school, it's sure a lot wasted time checking boxes and not true learning. Still more efficient than being in a classroom with 20+ other kids, but still a lot of time wasted on repetitive subjects. It seems American history is repeated every year with silly memorization of random events. :) We learned more traveling to location.

Wow wow wow! "Good is the enemy of great." What a profound statement! I can't stop thinking about it. My dream is to go full-time RVing. I'm having trouble convincing my son and husband (daughter is totally on board!). I sometimes have apprehension myself. But I KNOW our good life now can become a GREAT life! It's just so hard to commit to taking that leap. Loving your videos! Thank you!
@KeepYourDaydream7 жыл бұрын
Right-on. Check out our latest Q&A video where we talk about our motivation to make it happen. We also talk a little more about it on our Podcast - Episode 100. Apprehension is normal. Even after we had our May 27 date... and we were 100% all-in no going back, I would drive down the road and think, "what did we do?? I much be nuts. I hope I didn't ruin everything". We initially choose 6 months because it was easier to get the kids to take it on like a "trip" or adventure. Then... when everyone was having a great time (peak moment) we'd talk about continuing :) Timing is critical! www.keepyourdaydream.com/keep-your-daydream-ep-100/

As an east coast-er (though, Canadian), next time you cook clams make sure the shells aren't open (that means the clam is dead and you could get ill) and you steam the clams inside the shell. The clam is cooked when the shell is open.

Great video!!! Enjoyed your orange exchange with US Customs :-) Arcadia National Park is just amazing. A great place to take your kids, and just let them roam along the water. Hubby and I had plans on going there years ago, and something happened which caused us to change our plans. Were you able to see any of the eagles just sitting in the trees watching people?

Thanks for the comment! We did see an Eagle. Massive sized if I recall. Carson pointed it out.

I enjoyed your philosophical musings at the end. I'm house-bound with many pets, but must find a way to explore some more of nature, perhaps by stretching a daily outing from dawn-to-dusk instead of 😻cat's-breakfast-to-cat's-dinnertime😻

Love your comment! Yes, we've had many guests on the podcast talk about this topic exactly. I'm not sure if this is the one that talks about a daily outing, but check it out. www.keepyourdaydream.com/bearfoot-theory/

I am so stinkin' late to this party, but decided to go back and watch your videos from the beginning. I'm from Maine! I loved this episode SO much. I grew up Downeast and seeing Acadia is like coming home. Whether by air, car, or otherwise, the moment I see the craggy coast of Maine and that bold Atlantic, my blood pressure instantly goes down about 20 notches. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in my home state. Thanks for sharing this--made my night. xoxo ~ Gidget

Rofl thank you for the privacy screen, I'm sure it was nutritious or maybe it tasted like the clam Oh boy your videos have become my secret pleasure. I don't think I've commented so much on any other contributors' page. Take care xx

Lol. I can tell you're watching on a computer because the privacy screen only shows up for desktop. People who watch on a phone or tablet still comment, ahh.... you know he just ate his bugger? Yeah, I know. Bigger fish to fry here! Glad you're enjoying the videos. You still have a long way to go!

We love your videos, makes us really look forward to our trip next year following your trip but starting in Atlanta. Are those mirrors standard with your F150? I really like them. Thanks again.

Thanks Larry or Angel :) You're going to have so much fun. I really like my mirrors. I went to the dealer to install the factory towing mirrors, but it would have been $600 - had to stop spending and just go! So I bought these on Amazon and they're great. Zero issues. Keep us posted. Find us on Fbook and keep in touch. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000B5QFE4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks for the comment nonetheless! Jim Collins did a better job explaining the concept. In the moment, I wondering why we wouldn't made the extra effort to make the most of our time in Maine... and then I realized that it was because hanging out at the RV park was pretty "good". No need to try harder, but "great" was right around the corner the entire time and we only got 3 hours there. My fault. Thus, good is the enemy of great.
