When you are boondocking, how is the trailer water pressurized?

Hi Matthew, All Escape trailers come standard with a 12V water pump which pressurizes the water system. - Harrison@Escape

What a great detailed explanation of power in a trailer/RV. I really got “edgumacated “watching Carl. I clearly understand what I will equip my Escape 5.0 when it gets time to order

Well done, Karl (and Escape team)! I am an electrician of 26 years (Germany & Canada) and know how challenging it can be to explain the details of our invisible helper the electricity. Sure, one can go into loads of details, but at some point you just notice the blank look in the listeners eyes ;) . This level is perfect to understand. We are looking forward to our 21C!

Thanx Carl, great vid. I think the best setup is 4 golfcart batteries. Also those lithium batteries are great, but they are very expensive and thieves know that.

Great explanation. One question, you mention the solar panel will give approximately 9.4 amps (per pannel). Is that per hour, per day, or ? Thanks in advance.

*New here & Omgosh...... I love you for doing this video for someone who doesn't understand this stuff!!! You are a absolutely wonderful teacher!!! I thought Solar was everything, but like you said everyone gets confused about them. You are Very Much Appreciated more than words can express. We're in SC & I Sooooo wish you were in our area as well. I truly believe you have quality products. Do you also tell/teach ppl in any videos about what vehicles you need to pull what you're wanting to purchase? Thank you again for this So Very Much. Definably saved to a private playlist to watch over & over. 😁😁😁* Sharon in SC

I didn’t know lithium ready was an option when I filled out my build sheet. What does the lithium ready option give you besides the dc to dc charger?

I saw both a Go Power and Victron device on the table so Is your solar charge controller PWM or MPPT?

Great overview, Carl. We went with the Full solar, Li Ready, option on our new 5.0 (Jan 6th "ish"). We have 4-Battleborn Li batteries for it. For us the challenge will be monitoring the power in & out, as using voltage alone is just a best guess. Looked at both the Victron & Thornwave "bluetooth only" shunt monitors, with the Thornwave winning. Further BT range so we can check battery/solar levels & current draws from the truck or house. Plus it logs power data for 3 years, and a very easy install. At $159, it's very useful tool.

I found this informative and easy to understand also. I'm also eager to learn more about the issues with the front solar panels. Would love a 2nd front panel on our 21NE but only if it's stable. The good news from this video is it looks like for our needs we can get by with one panel and add a portable if needed. Many thanks!

Karl you did a awesome job describing the electrical system . That is what I like about Escape Travel Trailers as a company y’all are very informative and keep your customers in the loop. Karl my question is what is the device that while you are in travel mode and charging the lithium battery from the tow vehicle. Called and where and how does it mount. As of now I just upgraded my converter to a smart converter ,But still have a lead acid battery ,and when I upgrade trying to figure best option.for battery type.Still waiting to see escape 23ft .Still in the casita for now but escape is going to be our upgrade. Thanks for all the escape updates . Y’all do the best keeping customers involved .Levi

This is an excellent video for explaining how you use electricity in a trailer! We went with the two 6-volt batteries but when they die I'm tempted to go lithium -- although in the furnace example given at the end I had expected the two lithium batteries to run the furnace two or three times as long (I guess just because lithium is all the rage!)

Very informative... and not too "techie". I'd like to know the weights of the various battery configurations...'cause weight is everything when towing.
